Demonstration circuit 1852A is a combined step-up and step-down DC/DC converter, using the LTC3536 monolithic synchronous buck-boost regulator in the MSOP package. The DC1852A has wide input voltage range of 1.8V to 5.5V and is capable of delivering up to 1A of output current. The output voltage of the DC1852A can be set as low as 1.8V and can go as high as 5.5V. DC1852A supports two operation modes: fixed-frequency pulse-width modulation (PWM) and Burst Mode® operation.

The ADP5072 is a dual, high performance dc-to-dc regulator that generates independently regulated positive and negative rails.The input voltage range of 2.85 V to 5.5 V supports a wide variety of applications. The integrated main switch in both regulators enables generation of an adjustable positive output voltage up to 35 V and a negative output voltage down to ?30 V.The ADP5072 operates at a pin selected 1.2 MHz or 2.4 MHz switching frequency. The ADP5072 can synchronize with an external oscillator from 1.0 MHz to 2.6 MHz to ease noise filtering in sensitive applications. Both regulators implement programmable slew rate control circuitry for the MOSFET driver stage to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI). Demonstration circuits 1053A-E through 1053A-H exercise the LTC3526L family of high efficiency synchronous boost converters, and are capable of operating with an input voltage range from 0.8V to 5.5V. The 2 × 2 mm DFN thermally enhanced package, high switching frequency (1MHz or 2MHz) and 550mA internal power switches provide a very tiny solution. The LTC3526L family also features output disconnect, and the input voltage can be greater or less than the output voltage. DC1053A-E features the LTC3526L (Burst mode operation) and the DC1053A-F features the LTC3526LB (Burst mode defeated). Both have a 1MHz switching frequency and use a 4.7µH inductor.

The LTC3225/LTC3225-1 are programmable supercapacitor chargers designed to charge two supercapacitors in series to a selectable fixed output voltage (4.8V/5.3V for the LTC3225 and 4V/4.5V for the LTC3225-1) from input supplies as low as 2.8V to 5.5V. Automatic cell balancing prevents overvoltage damage to either supercapacitor. No balancing resistors are required. Low input noise, low quiescent current and low external parts count (one flying capacitor, one bypass capacitor at VIN and one programming resistor) make the LTC3225/LTC3225-1 ideally suited for small battery-powered applications. Charge current level is programmed with an external resistor. When the input supply is removed, the LTC3225/LTC3225-1 automatically enter a low current state, drawing less than 1?A from the supercapacitors.
