LTM4681 | PolyPhase Single Output Step-Down μModule Regulator with Digital PSM: 2 × LTM4681 at 240A

Demonstration circuit 3082A-A features the LTM4681: the wide input and output voltage range, high efficiency and power density, high current PolyPhase® single output DC/DC step-down μModule® regulator with digital power system management. DC3082A-A is configured as 8-phase single output using 2 × LTM4681. The factory default input voltage is 12V typical, output voltage is 1V at 240A typical or 250A peak with recommended 400LFM forced airflow. The demo board output voltages can be adjusted from 0.6V to 1V. Programming the output voltages to any value that is greater than 1V, requires derating output current based on thermal derating curves provided in the data sheet of the LTM4681. Heat sink or other appropriate electronic cooling systems can also be used in conjunction with forced airflow to further optimize the output power when the output is on and loaded with maximum output current. The factory default switching frequency is preset at 350kHz typical. DC3082A-A comes with PMBus interface and digital power system management functions. An onboard 12-pin connector is available for users to connect the dongle DC1613A to the demo board, provides an easy way to communicate and program the part using LTpowerPlay® software development tool. LTpowerPlay software and I2C/PMBus/SMBus dongle DC1613A allows users to monitor real time telemetry of input and output voltages, input and output current, switching frequency, internal IC die temperatures, power stage component temperatures and fault logs. Programmable parameters include device address, output voltages, control loop compensation, switching frequency, phase interleaving, DCM or CCM Mode of operation, digital soft-start, sequencing, and time based shutdown, fault responses to input and output overvoltage, output overcurrent, IC die and power component overtemperatures. The LTM4681 is available in a thermally enhanced, low profile 330-Lead (15mm × 22mm × 8.17mm) BGA package. It is recommended to read the data sheet and demo manual of LTM4681 prior to using or making any hardware changes to DC3082A-A. LTpowerPlay software can be downloaded here. Evaluating the ADP8861 Charge Pump, 7-Channel Smart LED Driver with I2C Interface

The ADP8860SHIELD-EVALZ and the ADP8861SHIELD-EVALZ incorporate light emitting diodes (LEDs) for quick and easy evaluation of the ADP8860 and the ADP8861. Note that only the ADP8860SHIELD-EVALZ has dual light intensity sensors. The ADP8860SHIELD-EVALZ and the ADP8861SHIELD-EVALZ follow the form factor of a regular Arduino® shield to allow compatibility with microcontroller boards that use the same interface. These evaluation boards also incorporate a separate header dedicated to I2C communications. The ADP8860 and the ADP8861 are 7-channel LED drivers that utilizes a charge pump with selective gain for maximum efficiency. The LEDs driven by either device are programmable for maximum current and fade in and out times via the I2C interface. Only the ADP8860 has a programable light intensity threshold that can be set via the I2C interface of the device. Each channel can handle up to 30 mA (typical), except for the seventh channel, which can handle 60 mA (typical). Each channel can be unified to have the same fade in time and fade out time, or each channel can have an individual fade in time and fade out time for greater flexibility. Demonstration circuit 1254A is a polyphase 3-output step-down supply with tracking featuring the LTC3853EUJ. The input voltage range is 6.5V to 24V. For applications with narrow, 5V ±0.5V input range, the board has an optional resistor to tie the INTVCC pin to the VIN pin. The demo board provides three 5A outputs, with output voltages of 2.5V, 1.8V and 3.3V. The main features of the board include rail tracking, an internal 5V linear regulator for bias, RUN pins for each output, two PGOOD signals and a Mode selector that allow the converter to run in CCM, pulse skip or Burst Mode operation. Synchronization to an external clock is also possible through some minor component changes.

The ADF7024 is an ultralow power, integrated transceiver for use in the license-free ISM bands at 433 MHz, 868 MHz, and 915 MHz. Its ease of use and high performance make it suitable for a wide variety of wireless applications. The ADF7024 is suitable for operation under the European ETSI EN 300-220 regulation, the North American FCC Part 15 regulation, and other similar regulatory standards.The ADF7024 can operate under a number of predefined radio profiles. For each radio profile, optimized register settings are provided for the ADF7024 radio. This ensures that the RF communication layer works seamlessly, allowing the user to concentrate on the protocol and system level design and prototyping. The radio profiles cover common data rate and modulation options. There are six radio profiles in total, as shown in Table 1.The ADF7024 operates with a power supply range of 2.2 V to 3.6 V and has very low power consumption in both Tx and Rx modes, enabling long lifetimes in battery-operated systems while maintaining excellent RF performance.The low IF receiver minimizes power consumption and provides excellent sensitivity. The receiver is exceptionally linear and, therefore, is very resilient to the presence of interferers in spectrally noisy environments. The highly efficient transmitter has programmable output power up to 13.5 dBm and automatic power amplifier (PA) ramping to meet transient spurious specifications. The RF synthesizer comprises a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), a low noise fractional-N phase-locked loop (PLL) and a loop filter, all of which are fully integrated and automatically calibrated. This agile frequency synthesizer facilitates the implementation of frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) systems.The smart wake mode (SWM) allows the ADF7024 to wake up autonomously from sleep using the internal wake-up timer without intervention from the host processor. This functionality allows carrier sense, packet sniffing, and packet reception while the host processor is in sleep, thereby reducing overall system current consumption.The ADF7024 eases the processing burden of the host processor by integrating the lower layers of a typical communication protocol stack. The host processor can configure the ADF7024 using a simple command-based protocol over a standard 4-wire SPI interface.
