The AD91661 is a high performance, wideband, on-chip vector signal generator composed of a high speed JESD204B serializer/deserializer (SERDES) interface, a flexible 16-bit digital datapath, a inphase/quadrature (I/Q) digital-to-analog converter (DAC) core, and an integrated differential to single-ended outputbuffer amplifier, matched to a 50 ? load up to 10 GHz.The DAC core is based on a quad-switch architecture, which is configurable to increase the effective DAC core update rate of up to 12.8 GSPS from a 6.4 GHz DAC sampling clock, with an analog output bandwidth of true dc to 9.0 GHz, typically. The digital datapath includes multiple interpolation filter stages, a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) block with multiple numerically controlled oscillators (NCOs) supporting fast frequency hopping (FFH), and additional FIR85 and inverse sinc filter stages to allow flexible spectrum planning.The differential to single-ended buffer eliminates the need for a wideband balun, and supports the full analog output bandwidth of the DAC core. DC coupling the output allows baseband waveform generation without the need for external bias tees or similar circuitry, which makes the AD9166 uniquely suited for the mostdemanding high speed ultrawideband RF transmit applications. The various filter stages enable the AD9166 to be configured for lower data rates, while maintaining higher DAC clock rates to ease the filtering requirements and reduce the overall system size, weight, and power.The data interface receiver consists of up to eight JESD204B SERDES lanes, each capable of carrying up to 12.5 Gbps. To enable maximum flexibility, the receiver is fully configurable according to the data rate, number of SERDES lanes, and lane mapping required by the JESD204B transmitter.In 2? nonreturn-to-zero (NRZ) mode of operation (with FIR85 enabled), the AD9166 can reconstruct RF carriers from true dc to the edge of the third Nyquist zone, or an analog bandwidth of true dc up to 9 GHz.In mix mode, the AD9166 can reconstruct RF carriers in the second and third Nyquist zones while consuming lower power and maintaining a performance comparable to 2? NRZ mode.In baseband modes, such as return-to-zero (RZ) and 1? NRZ, the AD9166 is ideal to reconstruct RF carriers from true dc to the edge of the first Nyquist zone while consuming lower power compared to 2? NRZ mode.The quadrature DDS block can be configured as a digital upconverter to upconvert I/Q data samples to the desired location across the spectrum, in all three Nyquist zones.The DDS also consists of a bank of 32 numerically controlled oscillators (NCOs), each with its own 32-bit phase accumulator. When combined with a 100 MHz serial peripheral interface (SPI), the DDS allows a phase coherent FFH, with a phase settling time as low as 300 ns.The AD9166 is configured using a common SPI interface that monitors the status of all registers. Demonstration circuit DC3082A-C features the LTM4681: the wide input and output voltage range, high efficiency and power density, high current PolyPhase® single output DC/DC step-down μModule® regulator with digital power system management. DC3082A-C is configured as 16-phase single output using 4× LTM4681. The factory default input voltage is 12V typical, output voltage is 1V at 480A typical or 500A peak with recommended 400LFM forced airflow. The demo board output voltages can be adjusted from 0.6V to 1V. Programming the output voltages to any value that is greater than 1V, requires derating output current based on thermal derating curves provided in the data sheet of the LTM4681. Heat sink or other appropriate electronic cooling systems can also be used in conjunction with forced airflow to further optimize the output power when the output is on and loaded with maximum output current. The factory default switching frequency is preset at 350kHz typical. DC3082A-C comes with PMBus interface and digital power system management functions. An onboard 12-pin connector is available for users to connect the dongle DC1613A to the demo board, provides an easy way to communicate and program the part using LTpowerPlay® software development tool. LTpowerPlay software and I2C/PMBus/SMBus dongle DC1613A allows users to monitor real time telemetry of input and output voltages, input and output current, switching frequency, internal IC die temperatures, power stage component temperatures and fault logs. Programmable parameters include device address, output voltages, control loop compensation, switching frequency, phase interleaving, DCM or CCM mode of operation, digital soft-start, sequencing and time based shutdown, fault responses to input and output overvoltage, output overcurrent, IC die and power component overtemperature.
The LTM4681 is available in a thermally enhanced, low profile 330-Lead (15mm × 22mm × 8.17mm) BGA package. It is recommended to read the data sheet and the demo manual of LTM4681 prior to use or making any hardware changes to DC3082A-C.

The AD5228 is Analog Devices? latest 32-step-up/step-down control digital potentiometer emulating mechanical potentiometer operation. Its simple up/down control interface allows manual control with just two external pushbutton tactile switches. The AD5228 is designed with a built-in adaptive debouncer that ignores invalid bounces due to contact bounce commonly found in mechanical switches. The debouncer is adaptive, accommodating a variety of pushbutton tactile switches that generally have less than 10 ms of bounce time during contact closures. When choosing the switch, the user should consult the timing specification of the switch to ensure its suitability in an AD5228 application.The AD5228 can increment or decrement the resistance in discrete steps or in autoscan mode. When the PU or PD button is pressed briefly (no longer than 0.6 s), the resistance of the AD5228 changes by one step. When the PU or PD button is held continuously for more than a second, the device activates the autoscan mode and changes four resistance steps per second.The AD5228 can also be controlled digitally; its up/down features simplify microcontroller usage. The AD5228 is available in a compact thin SOT-23-8 (TSOT-8) package.
