The AD7280A contains all the functions required for general-purpose monitoring of stacked lithium ion batteries as used in hybrid electric vehicles, battery backup applications, and power tools. The part has multiplexed cell voltage and auxiliary ADC measurement channels for up to six cells of battery management. An internal ?3 ppm reference is provided that allows a cell voltage accuracy of ?1.6 mV. The ADC resolution is 12 bits and allows conversion of up to 48 cells within 7 ?s.The AD7280A operates from just one VDD supply that has a range of 8 V to 30 V (with an absolute maximum rating of 33 V). The part provides six differential analog input channels to accommodate large common-mode signals across the full VDD range. Each channel allows an input signal range, VIN(+) ? VIN(?), of 1 V to 5 V. The input pins assume a series stack of six cells. In addition, the part includes six auxiliary ADC input channels that can be used for temperature measurement or system diagnostics.The AD7280A includes on-chip registers that allow a sequence of channel measurements to be programmed to suit the applications requirements.The AD7280A also includes a dynamic alert function that can detect if the cell voltages or auxiliary ADC inputs exceed an upper or lower limit defined by the user. The AD7280A has cell balancing interface outputs designed to control external FET transistors to allow discharging of individual cells.The AD7280A includes a built in self-test feature that internally applies a known voltage to the ADC inputs.There is a daisy-chain interface that allows up to eight parts to be stacked without the need for individual device isolation.The AD7280A requires only one supply pin that takes 6.5 mA under normal operation, while converting at 1 MSPS.All this functionality is provided in a 48-lead LQFP package operating over a temperature range of ?40?C to +105?C.APPLICATIONS Lithium ion battery monitoring Electric and hybrid electric vehicles Power supply back up Power tools

LTM4647 High Efficiency, PolyPhase 120A Step-Down Power μModule Regulator

Demonstration circuit 2616A-D features a polyphase design using the LTM4647EY, a 30A high efficiency, switch mode step-down power µModule regulator. The input voltage range is from 6V to 15V. To use DC2616A-D for input voltage range from 4.7V to 6V, connect INTVCC to SVIN (change R22, R42, R55, R68 from OPT to 0Ω), DRVCC to VIN (change R21, R38, R52, R65 from 0Ω to OPT, R2, R39, R53, R66 from OPT to 0Ω). The output voltage range is 0.6V to 1.8V. The DC2616A-D can deliver a nominal 120A output current with four LTM4647 modules in parallel. As explained in the data sheet, output current derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, and thermal conditions. The board operates in continuous conduction mode in heavy load conditions. For high efficiency at low load currents, the MODE_PLLIN jumper selects pulseskipping mode for noise sensitive applications or burst mode operation in less noise sensitive applications. The MODE_PLLIN pin also allows the LTM4647 to synchronize to an external clock signal. The phase shift between two adjacent phases is 90 degrees. DC2616A-D has the option of choosing both internal and external compensation circuit for LTM4647. The LTM4647 data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual prior to working on or modifying demo circuit DC2616A-D.

The AD8278 and AD8279 are general-purpose difference amplifiers intended for precision signal conditioning in power critical applications that require both high performance and low power. The AD8278 and AD8279 provide exceptional common-mode rejection ratio (80 dB) and high bandwidth while amplifying input signals that are well beyond the supply rails. The on-chip resistors are laser trimmed for excellent gain accuracy and high CMRR. They also have extremely low gain drift vs. temperature.The common-mode range of the amplifier extends to almost triple the supply voltage (for G = ?), making the amplifer ideal for single-supply applications that require a high common-mode voltage range. The internal resistors and ESD circuitry at the inputs also provide overvoltage protection to the op amp.The AD8278 and AD8279 can be used as difference amplifiers with G = ? or G = 2. They can also be connected in a high precision, single-ended configuration for non inverting and inverting gains of ??, ?2, +3, +2, +1?, +1, or +?. The AD8278 and AD8279 provide an integrated precision solution that has a smaller size, lower cost, and better performance than a discrete alternative.The AD8278 and AD8279 operate on single supplies (2.0 V to 36 V) or dual supplies (?2 V to ?18 V). The maximum quiescent supply current is 200 ?A, which is ideal for battery-operated and portable systems. The LTC2983 measures a wide variety of temperature sensors and digitally outputs the result, in ?C or ?F, with 0.1?C accuracy and 0.001?C resolution. The LTC2983 can measure the temperature of virtually all standard (type B, E, J, K, N, S, R, T) or custom thermocouples, automatically compensate for cold junction temperatures and linearize the results. The device can also measure temperature with standard 2-, 3- or 4-wire RTDs, thermistors and diodes. It has 20 reconfigurable analog inputs enabling many sensor connections and configuration options. The LTC2983 includes excitation current sources and fault detection circuitry appropriate for each type of temperature sensor.The LTC2983 allows direct interfacing to ground referenced sensors without the need for level shifters, negative supply voltages, or external amplifiers. All signals are buffered and simultaneously digitized with three high accuracy, 24-bit ??
