Demonstration Circuit 1419 is a 1.5MHz current mode step-down switching regulator with programmable output current limit featuring the LT3663. The current limit accurately controls the system power dissipation and reduces the size of the power path components. The demo board operates with a 7.5V to 36V (60 transients) input voltage range. The output can be set to 3.3V or 5V using jumper J4, and the current limit can be set to 0.6V, 0.8V, 1V or 1.2V using jumpers J2 and J3.

Demonstration circuit 1294A exercises four adjustable linear regulators in parallel using the LT3080. A small 20 mΩ ballast resistor is required for parallel operation. A short PCB trace can easily serve that purpose. The paralleled devices provide up to 4.4A of output current at 3.3V.
Architected as a precision current source and voltage follower, the LT3080 can be used in many applications requiring high current, adjustability to zero output, and no heat sink. The device brings out the collector of the pass transistor to allow low dropout operation when used with multiple supplies. The LT3080's output voltage can be programmed to any level between 0V and 36V; however the demo board has a reduced input voltage range from 3.8V to 25V due to the input capacitor voltage rating.

Demonstration circuit 879 is a Micropower Synchronous Step-Up Converter with Output Disconnect featuring the LTC3525-3.3 and LTC3525-5. The LTC3525 is a high performance Burst Mode operation only, synchronous boost converter. The LTC3525 incorporates a feature that maximizes efficiency by adjusting the peak and valley of the inductor current as a function of load. The demo board has two assembly versions: DC879A-A and DC879A-B. The DC879A-A offers fixed 3.3V output. The DC879A-B offers fixed 5V output. They offer a compact, high efficiency solution in single cell or dual cell alkaline or Li-ion applications. Only three small external components are required.

Demonstration circuit 2365A highlights the LTC2358 family of buffered input ADCs. The LTC2358/LTC2357/LTC2353/LTC2333 are low noise, high speed, 16-/18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs with integrated front end buffers. These ADCs accept a wide common mode range. Pico-amp inputs and high CMRR enable these ADCs to connect directly to a wide range of sensors without compromising measurement accuracy. The demo manual refers to the LTC2358-18 but applies to all parts in the family, the only differences being the number of bits, number of channels and the maximum sample rate. The LTC2358-18 has a flexible SoftSpan™ interface that allows conversion-by-conversion control of the input voltage span on a per-channel basis. An internal 2.048V reference and 2X buffer simplify basic operation while an external reference can be used to increase the input range and the SNR of the ADC.

The AD5258 provides a compact, nonvolatile 3 mm ? 4.9 mm packaged solution for 64-position adjustment applications. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as mechanical potentiometers?or variable resistors, but with enhanced resolution and solid-state reliability.The wiper settings are controllable through an I2C-compatible digital interface that is also used to read back the wiper register and EEPROM content in addition, resistor tolerance is stored within EEPROM, providing an end-to-end tolerance accuracy of 0.1%.
