The AD5063, a member of the Analog Device Inc., nanoDAC? family, is a low power, single 16-bit, unbuffered voltage-output DAC that operates from a single 2.7 V to 5 V supply. The device offers a relative accuracy specification of ?1 LSB, and operation is guaranteed monotonic with a ?1 LSB DNL specification. The AD5063 comes with on-board resistors in a 10-lead MSOP, allowing bipolar signals to be generated with an output amplifier. The device uses a versatile 3-wire serial interface that operates at clock rates up to 30 MHz and that is compatible with standard SPI?, QSPI?, MICROWIRE?, and DSP interface standards. The reference for the AD5063 is supplied from an external VREF pin. A reference buffer is also provided on-chip. The device incorporates a power-on reset circuit that ensures the DAC output powers up to midscale and remains there until a valid write to the device takes place. The device contains a power-down feature that reduces the current consumption of the device to typically 300 nA at 5 V and provides software-selectable output loads while in power-down mode. The device is put into power-down mode via the serial interface. The AD8280 is a hardware-only safety monitor for lithium ionbattery stacks. The device has inputs to monitor six battery cellsand two temperature sensors (either NTC or PTC thermistors).The device is designed to be daisy-chained with additional AD8280devices to monitor a stack of significantly more than six cellswithout the need for numerous isolators. The output can beconfigured for an independent or shared alarm state.The AD8280 functions independently from a primarymonitor and contains a reference and LDO, both of which arepowered completely from the battery cell stack. The LTC4066/LTC4066-1 are USB power managers and Li-Ion battery chargers designed to work in portable battery-powered applications. The parts control the total current used by the USB peripheral for operation and battery charging. The total input current can be limited to 100mA, 500mA or ?unlimited? (i.e., above 2A). Battery charge current is automatically reduced such that the sum of the load current and the charge current does not exceed the programmed input current limit.The LTC4066/LTC4066-1 include a standalone constant-current / constant-voltage linear charger for single cell Li-ion batteries. The ?oat voltage applied to the battery is held to a tight 0.8% tolerance, and charge current is programmable using an external resistor to ground. A programmable end-of-charge status output (CHRG) indicates full charge. BAT pin charge and discharge currents can be monitored via an analog output (ISTAT). Total charge time is programmable by an external capacitor to ground. When the battery drops 100mV below the ?oat voltage, automatic recharging of the battery occurs.
