Demonstration circuit 1829A is a high efficiency, high density, synchronous buck converter with 4.5V to 14V input voltage range. It can supply a 30A maximum load current with a 1.5V output. This demo board utilizes the LTC3866EUF, a feature-rich single phase synchronous buck controller with very low DCR current sensing capability, on-chip drivers and remote output voltage sensing. This board is setup with 0.32mΩ DCR inductor. The temperature compensation function guarantees accurate current limit over a wide temperature range with DCR sensing. The LTC3866 is suitable for operation from an input voltage of 4.5V to 38V and output voltages up to 3.5V.

The LTC6900 is a precision, low power oscillator that is easy to use and occupies very little PC board space. The oscillator frequency is programmed by a single external resistor (RSET). The LTC6900 has been designed for high accuracy operation (?1.5% frequency error) without the need for external trim components. The LTC6900 operates with a single 2.7V to 5.5V power supply and provides a rail-to-rail, 50% duty cycle square wave output. The CMOS output driver ensures fast rise/fall times and rail-to-rail switching. The frequency-setting resistor can vary from 10k? to 2M? to select a master oscillator frequency between 100kHz and 20MHz (5V supply). The three-state DIV input determines whether the master clock is divided by 1, 10 or 100 before driving the output, providing three frequency ranges spanning 1kHz to 20MHz (5V supply). The LTC6900 features a proprietary feedback loop that linearizes the relationship between RSET and frequency, eliminating the need for tables to calculate frequency. The ADP5054 combines four high performance buck regulators in a 48-lead LFCSP package that meets demanding performance and board space requirements. The device enables direct connection to high input voltages of up to 15.5 V with no preregulators.Channel 1 and Channel 2 integrate high-side power metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) and low-side MOSFET drivers. The?AD7794/AD7795 are low power, low noise, complete analog front ends for high precision measurement applications. They contain a low noise, 24-/16-bit ?-? ADC with six differential inputs. The on-chip low noi se instrumentation amplifier means that signals of small amplitude can be interfaced directly to the ADC.Each device contains a precision, low noise, low drift internal band gap reference, and can also accept up to two external differential references. Other on-chip features include programmable excitation current sources, burnout currents, and a bias voltage generator that is used to set the common-mode voltage of a channel to AVDD/2. The low-side power switch can be used to power down bridge sensors between conversions, minimizing the system?s power consumption. The AD7794/AD7795 can operate with either an internal clock or an external clock. The output data rate from each part can vary from 4.17 Hz to 470 Hz.Both parts operate with a power supply from 2.7 V to 5.25 V. The B-grade parts (AD7794 and AD7795) are specified for a temperature range of ?40?C to +105?C while the C-grade part (AD7794) is specified for a temperature range of ?40?C to +125?C. Demonstration circuit 2523A is an 18V, 8.5A (continuous)/12A (peak) synchronous step-down Silent Switcher® with 16µA quiescent current featuring the LT8652S. The LT8652S is a compact, high efficiency, high speed synchronous monolithic step-down switching with the second generation Silent Switcher structure that minimizes EMI and reduces PCB layout sensitivity. Top and bottom power switches, compensation components and other necessary circuits are inside of the LT8652S to minimize external components and simplify design. The demo board has two outputs: 3.3V and 1.2V from a 3.6V to 18V input. The wide input range allows a variety of input sources, such as automotive batteries and industrial supplies.
The SYNC pin on the demo board is grounded by default for low ripple Burst Mode® operation. Move JP2 to FCM without SSM position can change the operation mode to forced continuous mode operation. Once JP2 is on FCM with SSM position, VCC is applied to the SYNC pin for low EMI spread spectrum operation. To synchronous to an external clock, move JP2 to SYNC and apply the external clock to the SYNC turret.
The demonstration circuit 2523A runs at 2MHz to minimize solution size. The peak efficiency is 90%. The IC temperature rise is less than 70°C when both channels run at full load, 8.5A each, at 2MHz.
The demo board has EMI filters installed for both channels. To use the EMI filter, the input should be tied to VEMI1/VEMI2, not VIN1/VIN2.
