Demonstration circuit 1212A-B is a monolithic step-dwon DC/DC switching regulatro featuring the LT3685 in the 3x3 DFN-10 package. The demo board provides 5V@2A from a 6.3V to 38V input and has transient protection up to 60V. The demo boards default switching frequency is 800kHz, but the LT3685 has a SYNC pin which allows frequency synchronization to an external clock over a 250kHz to 2MHz range. The LT3685's quiescent current is 0.9mA, while the LT3480 has a 70uA quiescent current. An EMC filter at the input makes the circuit compatible with EMC standard EN55022 Class B.

The LTC3106 is a highly integrated, ultralow voltage buck-boost DC/DC converter with automatic PowerPath management optimized for multisource, low power systems. At no load, the LTC3106 draws only 1.6?A while creating an output voltage up to 5V from either input source.If the primary power source is unavailable, the LTC3106 seamlessly switches to the backup power source. The LTC3106 is compatible with either rechargeable or primary cell batteries and can trickle charge a backup battery whenever there is an energy surplus available. Optional maximum power point control ensures power transfer is optimized between power source and load. The output voltage and backup voltage, VSTORE, are programmed digitally, reducing the required number of external components. The AD5235 is a dual-channel, nonvolatile memory, digitallycontrolled potentiometer with 1024-step resolution, offeringguaranteed maximum low resistor tolerance error of ?8%.The device performs the same electronic adjustment functionas a mechanical potentiometer with enhanced resolution, solidstate reliability, and superior low temperature coefficient performance.The versatile programming of the AD5235 via anSPI?-compatible serial interface allows 16 modes of operationand adjustment including scratchpad programming, memorystoring and restoring, increment/decrement, ?6 dB/step log taperadjustment, wiper setting readback, and extra EEMEM for user-definedinformation such as memory data for other components,look-up table, or system identification information.In the scratchpad programming mode, a specific setting canbe programmed directly to the RDAC register, which sets theresistance between Terminal W and Terminal A and Terminal Wand Terminal B. This setting can be stored into the EEMEMand is restored automatically to the RDAC register duringsystem power-on.The EEMEM content can be restored dynamically or throughexternal PR strobing, and a WP function protects EEMEMcontents. To simplify the programming, the independent orsimultaneous linear-step increment or decrement commandscan be used to move the RDAC wiper up or down, one step ata time. For logarithmic ?6 dB changes in the wiper setting, theleft or right bit shift command can be used to double or halve theRDAC wiper setting.The AD5235 patterned resistance tolerance is stored in theEEMEM. The actual end-to-end resistance can, therefore, beknown by the host processor in readback mode. The ADF7020-1 is a low power, highly integrated FSK/ GFSK/ ASK/ OOK/ GOOK transceiver designed for operation in thelow UHF and VHF bands. The ADF7020-1 uses an externalVCO inductor that allows users to set the operating frequencyanywhere between 135 MHz and 650 MHz. Using the divide-by-2circuit allows users to operate the device as low as 80 MHz.The typical range of the VCO is about 10% of the operatingfrequency. A complete transceiver can be built using a smallnumber of external discrete components, making the ADF7020-1 very suitable for price-sensitive and area-sensitiveapplications.The transmit section contains a VCO and low noisefractional-N PLL with output resolution of <1 ppm. Thisfrequency agile PLL allows the ADF7020-1 to be used infrequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) systems. The VCOoperates at twice the fundamental frequency to reduce spuriousemissions and frequency pulling problems.The transmitter output power is programmable in 63 steps from?20 dBm to +13 dBm. The transceiver RF frequency, channelspacing, and modulation are programmable using a simple 3-wire interface. The device operates with a power supply range of2.3 V to 3.6 V and can be powered down when not in useA low IF architecture is used in the receiver (200 kHz),minimizing power consumption and the external componentcount and avoiding interference problems at low frequencies.The ADF7020-1 supports a wide variety of programmablefeatures, including Rx linearity, sensitivity, and IF bandwidth,allowing the user to trade off receiver sensitivity and selectivityfor current consumption, depending on the application. Thereceiver also features a patent-pending automatic frequencycontrol (AFC) loop, allowing the PLL to compensate forfrequency error in the incoming signal.An on-chip ADC provides readback of an integrated temperaturesensor, an external analog input, the battery voltage, or theRSSI signal, which provides savings on an ADC in someapplications. The temperature sensor is accurate to ?10?C overthe full operating temperature range of ?40?C to +85?C.
