The ADXRS642 is a complete angular rate sensor (gyroscope) that uses the Analog Devices, Inc., surface-micromachining process to make a functionally complete and low cost angular rate sensor integrated with all of the required electronics on one chip. The manufacturing technique for this device is a patented high volume BiMOS process with years of proven field reliability.The ADXRS642 is an industrial grade gyroscope that is 100% pin, package, temperature, and function compatible with the ADXRS622 and ADXRS652, while offering enhanced vibration rejection.The output signal, RATEOUT (1B, 2A), is a voltage proportional to angular rate about the axis normal to the top surface of the package. The measurement range is a minimum of ?250?/s. The output is ratiometric with respect to a provided reference supply. Other external capacitors are required for operation.A temperature output is provided for compensation techniques. Two digital self-test inputs electromechanically excite the sensor to test proper operation of both the sensor and the signal conditioning circuits. Demonstration circuit SCP-LT1964-EVALZ is a –20V, 200mA Low Dropout (LDO) regulator designed to allow low noise operation in noise sensitive circuits. It is easily configured for a wide output range and can provide extremely quiet operation with its high PSRR.
Like all boards in the Signal Chain Power series, this board is designed to be easily plugged into other SCP boards to form a complete signal chain power system, enabling fast evaluation of low power signal chains. To evaluate this board, some universal SCP hardware is required, namely:

The AD7991 /?AD7995?/?AD7999 are 12-/10-/8-bit, low power, successive approximation ADCs with an I2C?-compatible interface. Each part operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V power supply and features a 1 ?s conversion time. The track-and-hold amplifier allows each part to handle input frequencies of up to 14 MHz, and a multiplexer allows taking samples from four channels.Each AD7991 / AD7995 / AD7999 provides a 2-wire serial interface compatible with I2C interfaces. The AD7991 and AD7995 come in two versions and each version has an individual I2C address. This allows two of the same devices to be connected to the same I2C bus. Both versions support standard, fast, and high speed I2C interface modes. The AD7999 comes in one version.The AD7991 / AD7995 / AD7999 normally remain in a shutdown state, powering up only for conversions. The conversion process is controlled by a command mode, during which each I2C read operation initiates a conversion and returns the result over the I2C bus.When four channels are used as analog inputs, the reference for the part is taken from VDD; this allows the widest dynamic input range to the ADC. Therefore, the analog input range to the ADC is 0 V to VDD;. Demonstration circuit 486B is a dual Smart Battery PowerPath and charger controller featuring the LTC1760. The input voltage is 12 to 20V. A jumper is provided to select trip for low battery voltage (LOBAT), VLIMIT (VLIM), and ILIMIT (ILIM). The LTC1760 follows the Smart Battery Standards for the Smart Battery System Manager (SBSM) specification.
