Demonstration circuit 1881A is a high efficiency synchronous buck-boost DC/DC converter with 6V to 36V input range. It can supply 2.5A maximum load current at 12V output. The demo board features the LTC3789EUFD controller. The constant-frequency current mode architecture allows a phase-lockable frequency of up to 600kHz, while an optional output current feedback loop provides support for applications such as battery charging. With a wide input range, wide output range and seamless transfers between operation modes, the LTC3789 is ideal for automotive, telecom, distributed DC power systems and battery-powered applications. This board has a compact solution size with dual SO-8 MOSFETs, small inductor and capacitor footprints. The package of LTC3789EUFD is a small, low thermal impedance 4mm × 5mm 28-Lead QFN.

The LTC2404/LTC2408 are 4-/8-channel 2.7V to 5.5V micropower 24-bit A/D converters with an integrated oscillator, 4ppm INL and 0.3ppm RMS noise. They use delta-sigma technology and provide single cycle digital filter settling time (no latency delay) for multiplexed applications. The first conversion after the channel is changed is always valid. Through a single pin the LTC2404/LTC2408 can be configured for better than 110dB rejection at 50Hz or 60Hz ?2%, or can be driven by an external oscillator for a user defined rejection frequency in the range 1Hz to 120Hz. The internal oscillator requires no external frequency setting components. The converters accept any external reference voltage from 0.1V to VCC. With their extended input conversion range of ?12.5% VREF to 112.5% VREF the LTC2404/LTC2408 smoothly resolve the offset and overrange problems of preceding sensors or signal conditioning circuits. The?AD7792/AD7793 are low power, low noise, complete analog front ends for high precision measurement applications. The AD7792/AD7793 contain a low noise 16-/24-bit ?-? ADC with three differential analog inputs. The on-chip, low noise instrumentation amplifier means that signals of small amplitude can be interfaced directly to the ADC. With a gain setting of 64, the rms noise is 40 nV when the update rate equals 4.17 Hz.The devices contain a precision low noise, low drift internal band gap reference and can accept an external differential reference. Other on-chip features include programmable excitation current sources, burnout currents, and a bias voltage generator. The bias voltage generator sets the common-mode voltage of a channel to AVDD/2The devices can be operated with either the internal clock or an external clock. The output data rate from the parts is software-programmable and can be varied from 4.17 Hz to 470 Hz.The parts operate with a power supply from 2.7 V to 5.25 V. The LTC6560 is a low-noise, transimpedance amplifier (TIA) with 220MHz bandwidth. The LTC6560?s low noise, high transimpedance and low power dissipation are ideal for LIDAR receivers using avalanche photodiodes (APDs). The LTC6560 features 74k? transimpedance gain and 30?A linear input current range. Using an input circuit with a total input capacitance of 2pF, the input current noise density is 4.8pA/?Hz at 200MHz. With lower capacitance, noise and bandwidth improve further. The LTC6560 operates from a single 5V supply and consumes only 90mW. Utilizing the LTC6560?s output MUX, multiple LTC6560 devices can be combined to a single output. The LTC6560?s fast overload recovery and fast output MUXing make it well suited for LIDAR receivers with multiple APDs. Its single-ended output can swing 2VP-P on a 100? load. The LTC1773 is a current mode synchronous buck regulator controller that drives external complementary power MOSFETs using a fixed frequency architecture. The operating supply range is from 2.65V to 8.5V, making it suitable for 1- or 2-cell lithium-ion battery powered applications. Burst Mode? operation provides high efficiency at low load currents. 100% duty cycle provides low dropout operation which extends operating time in battery-operated systems.The operating frequency is internally set at 550kHz, allowing the use of small surface mount inductors. For switching-noise sensitive applications, it can be synchronized up to 750kHz. Peak current limit is user programmable with an external high side sense resistor. A SYNC/FCB control pin guarantees regulation of secondary windings regardless of load on the main output by forcing continuous operation. Burst Mode operation is inhibited during synchronization or when the SYNC/FCB pin is pulled low to reduce noise and RF interference. Soft-start is provided by an external capacitor.Synchronous rectification increases efficiency and eliminates the need for a Schottky diode, saving components and board space. Demonstration circuit 2785A-B features the LTM4668A µModule® regulator, a Quad 1.2A high efficiency step-down regulator. DC2785A-B has an operating input voltage range of 2.7V to 17V and can provide an output current of up to 1.2A. The output voltage can be programmed from 1.8V up to 5V. The LTM4668A is a complete DC/DC point of load regulator in a thermally enhanced 6.25mm × 6.25mm × 2.1mm BGA package requiring only a few input and output capacitors.
External clock synchronization is available through the CLKIN turret. The LTM4668A data sheet must be read in conjunction with this demo manual for working on or modifying demo circuit 2785A-B.
