The AD7992 is a 12-bit, low power, successive approximation ADC with an I2 C-compatible interface. The part operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V power supply and features a 2 ?s conversion time. The part contains a 2-channel multiplexer and track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies up to 11 MHz. The AD7992 provides a 2-wire serial interface compatible with I2C interfaces. The part comes in two versions, the AD7992-0 and the AD7992-1, and each version allows for at least two different I2C addresses. The AD7992-0 supports standard and fast I2C interface modes, and the AD7992-1 supports standard, fast, and high speed I2C interface modes. The AD7992 normally remains in a shutdown state while not converting, and powers up only for conversions. The conversion process can be controlled using the CONVST pin, by a command mode where conversions occur across I2C write operations, or an automatic conversion interval mode selected through software control. The AD7992 requires an external reference in the range of 1.2 V to VDD. This allows the widest dynamic input range to the ADC. On-chip limit registers can be programmed with high and low limits for the conversion result, and an open-drain, out-of-range indicator output (ALERT) becomes active when the conversion result violates the programmed high or low limits. Two AD7992 versions allow five AD7992 devices to be connected to the same serial bus. The part features automatic shutdown while not converting to maximize power efficiency. Current consumption is 1 ?A max when in shutdown mode at 3 V. Reference can be driven up to the power supply. Out-of-range indicator that can be software disabled or enabled. One-shot and automatic conversion rates. Registers store minimum and maximum conversion results.

LT3508EFE/LT3508EUF Demo Board

Demonstration circuit 1060 features two LT3508 step-down DC/DC switching converters. One circuit uses the LT3508EFE and the other circuit has the LT3508EUF. The LT3508 dual output step-down switching regulator has two internal power switches, a wide input voltage range, adjustable switching frequency synchronizable over the frequency range, programmable soft-start, tracking, power-good, and channel sequencing. The anti-phase switching reduces the input capacitor. The wide VIN range of the LT3508 allows step-down configurations with up to 36V input. The high power internal switches have current limit that allows for up to 1.4A output on each output.
The demonstration circuit has two circuits. The top is optimized for high efficiency, wide input range and maximum output current; the bottom is optimized for the size. The top circuit is rated for 3.3V at 1.4A and 5V at 1.4A output from a 6V–36V input using the FE package. The frequency is set to 700kHz to allow for the high VIN to VOUT ratio and provides high efficiency throughout the range. The bottom circuit generates 1.8V at 1A and 3.3V at 1A from a 5V to 16V DC input using the QFN package and shows off the compact size with 1.6MHz switching frequency.

The ADP5080 is a fully integrated, high efficiency power solution for multicell lithium ion battery applications. The device can connect directly to the battery, which eliminates the need for preregulators and, therefore, increases the battery life of the system.The ADP5080 integrates two keep-alive LDO regulators, five synchronous buck regulators, a configurable four-switch buck boost regulator, and a high voltage LDO regulator. The ADP5080 is a highly integrated power solution that incorporates all power MOSFETs, feedback loop compensation, voltage setting resistor dividers, and discharge switches, as well as a charge pump to generate a global bootstrap voltage.All these features help to minimize the number of external components and PCB space required, providing significant advantages for portable applications. The switching frequency is selectable on each channel from 750 kHz to 2 MHz.Key functions for power applications, such as soft start, selectable preset output voltage, and flexible power-up and power-down sequences, are provided on chip and are programmable via the I2C interface with fused factory defaults.
