Demonstration circuit 2365A highlights the LTC2358 family of buffered input ADCs. The LTC2358/LTC2357/LTC2353/LTC2333 are low noise, high speed, 16-/18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs with integrated front end buffers. These ADCs accept a wide common mode range. Pico-amp inputs and high CMRR enable these ADCs to connect directly to a wide range of sensors without compromising measurement accuracy. The demo manual refers to the LTC2358-18 but applies to all parts in the family, the only differences being the number of bits, number of channels and the maximum sample rate. The LTC2358-18 has a flexible SoftSpan™ interface that allows conversion-by-conversion control of the input voltage span on a per-channel basis. An internal 2.048V reference and 2X buffer simplify basic operation while an external reference can be used to increase the input range and the SNR of the ADC.

The LTC3621/LTC3621-2 is a high efficiency 17V, 1A synchronous monolithic step-down regulator. The switching frequency is fixed to 1MHz or 2.25MHz with a ?40% synchronizing range. The regulator features ultralow quiescent current and high efficiencies over a wide VOUT range.The step-down regulator operates from an input voltage range of 2.7V to 17V and provides an adjustable output range from 0.6V to VIN while delivering up to 1A of output current. A user-selectable mode input is provided to allow the user to trade off ripple noise for light load efficiency; Burst Mode operation provides the highest efficiency at light loads, while pulse-skipping mode provides the lowest voltage ripple. The MODE pin can also be used to allow the user to sync the switching frequency to an external clock. The AD7291 is a 12-bit, low power, 8-channel, successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with an internal temperature sensor.The part operates from a single 3.3 V power supply and features an I2C-compatible interface. The part contains a 9-channel multiplexer and a track-and-hold amplifier than can handle frequencies up to 30 MHz. The device has an on-chip 2.5 V reference that can be disabled to allow the use of an external reference.The AD7291 provides a 2-wire serial interface compatible with I2C interfaces. The I2C interface supports standard and fast I2C interface modes. The AD7291 normally remains in a partial power-down state while not converting and powers up for conversions. The conversion process can be controlled by a command mode where conversions occur across I2C write operations or an autocycle mode selected through software control.The AD7291 includes a high accuracy band gap temperature sensor, which is monitored and digitized by the 12-bit ADC to give a resolution of 0.25?C.The AD7291 offers a programmable sequencer, which enables the selection of a preprogrammable sequence of channels for conversion.On-chip limit registers can be programmed with high and low limits for the conversion results; an out-of-range indicator output (ALERT) becomes active when the programmed high or low limits are violated by the conversion result.
