Demonstration circuit 1830B is a battery charger controller and PowerPath™ manager with maximum power point control (MPPC) featuring the LTC4000-1. MPPC extracts near maximum power from high impedance sources such as solar panels, wind turbines or fuel cells. MPPC is achieved by means of an input voltage regulation control loop. This board should be connected to a front-end DC/DC power supply for a complete charger solution.

Demonstration circuit 1471 is a monolithic step-down DC/DC switching regulator featuring the LT3990. The switching frequency is adjustable up to 2.2MHz. The demo circuit is designed for 5V, 350mA output from a 6.5V to 62V input. The wide input range of the LT3990 allows a variety of input sources including automotive batteries and 24V industrial supplies. Low ripple Burst Mode increases the efficiency at the light load while keeping the output ripple below 5mV in a typical application. The part is in shutdown when the EN pin is low and active when the pin is high. The threshold of the EN pin is accurate at 1V when VIN is above 4.2V. Adding a resistor divider from VIN to EN can program the LT3990 to regulate the output only when VIN is above a desired voltage. The catch diode and boost diode are integrated to reduce the components count and solution size. The circuit consumes only 2.5μA of quiescent current.

The LTC3612 is a low quiescent current monolithic synchronous buck regulator using a current mode, constant frequency architecture. The no-load DC supply current in sleep mode is only 70?A while maintaining the output voltage (Burst Mode operation) at no load, dropping to zero current in shutdown. The LTC4126-ADJ is a low-power wireless single-cell Li-Ion battery charger with an integrated step-down DC/DC regulator. The step-down regulator is a low-noise multimode charge pump which is powered from the battery and provides a regulated 1.2V at the output. The switching frequency is set to either 50kHz or 75kHz depending on the mode to keep any switching noise out of the audible range.The constant-current constant-voltage Li-Ion battery charger has automatic recharge, automatic termination by safety timer, and battery temperature monitoring via an NTC pin. The LT6604-15 consists of two matched, fully differential amplifiers, each with a 4th order, 15MHz lowpass ?lter. The ?xed frequency lowpass ?lter approximates a Chebyshev response. By integrating a ?lter and a differential amplifier, distortion and noise are made exceptionally low. At unity gain, the measured in band signal-to-noise ratio is an impressive 76dB. At higher gains, the input referred noise decreases, allowing the part to process smaller input differential signals without significantly degrading the signal-to-noise ratio.Gain and phase are highly matched between the two channels. Gain for each channel is independently programmed using two external resistors. The LT6604-15 enables level shifting by providing an adjustable output common mode voltage, making it ideal for directly interfacing to ADCs.The LT6604-15 is fully specified for 3V operation.
