The AD5930 is a waveform generator with programmable frequency sweep and output burst capability. Utilizing embedded digital processing that allows enhanced frequency control, the device generates synthesized analog or digital frequency-stepped waveforms. Because frequency profiles are preprogrammed, continuous write cycles are eliminated and thereby free up valuable DSP/microcontroller resources. Waveforms start from a known phase and are incremented phase continuously, which allows phase shifts to be easily determined. Consuming only 8 mA, the AD5930 provides a convenient low power solution to waveform generation.The AD5930 can be operated in a variety of modes. In continuous output mode, the device outputs the required frequency for a defined length of time and then steps to the next frequency. The length of time the device outputs a particular frequency is either preprogrammed and the device increments the frequency automatically, or, alternatively, is incremented externally via the CTRL pin. In burst mode, the device outputs its frequency for a length of time and then returns to midscale for a further predefined length of time before stepping to the next frequency. When the MSBOUT pin is enabled, a digital output is generated.To program the device, the user enters the start frequency, the increment step size, the number of increments to be made, and the time interval that the part outputs each frequency. The frequency sweep profile is initiated, started, and executed by toggling the CTRL pin.A number of different sweep profiles are offered. Frequencies can be stepped in triangular-sweep mode, which continuously sweeps up and down through the frequency range. Alternatively, in saw-sweep mode, the frequency is swept up through the frequency range, but returns to the initial frequency before executing the sweep again. In addition, a single frequency or burst can be generated without any sweep.The AD5930 is written to via a 3-wire serial interface, which operates at clock rates up to 40 MHz. The device operates with a power supply from 2.3 V to 5.5 V. Note that AVDD and DVDD are independent of each other and can be operated from different voltages. The first excitation loop consists of an ultra low power, dual-output string, digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and a low power, low noise potentiostat. One output of the DAC controls the noninverting input of the potentiostat, and the other output controls the noninverting input of the transimpedance amplifier (TIA). This low power excitation loop is capable of generating signals from dc to 200 Hz.The second excitation loop consists of a 12-bit DAC, referred to as the high speed DAC. This DAC is capable of generating high frequency excitation signals up to 200 kHz.The AD5940/AD5941 measurement channel features a 16-bit, 800 kSPS, multichannel successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with input buffers, a built in antialias filter, and a programmable gain amplifier (PGA). An input multiplexer (mux) in front of the ADC allows the user to select an input channel for measurement. The ADCMP604 / ADCMP605?are very fast comparators fabricated on the Analog Devices, Inc. proprietary XFCB2 process. These comparators are exceptionally versatile and easy to use. Features include an input range from VEE ? 0.5 V to VCCI + 0.2 V, low noise, LVDS-compatible output drivers, and TTL/CMOS latch inputs with adjustable hysteresis and/or shut-down inputs.The devices offer 1.5 ns propagation delays with 1 ps rms random jitter (RJ). Overdrive and slew rate dispersion are typically less than 50 ps.A flexible power supply scheme allows the devices to operate with a single 2.5 V positive supply and a ?0.5 V to +2.7 V input signal range up to a 5.5 V positive supply with a ?0.5 V to +5.7 V input signal range. Split input/output supplies, with no sequencing restrictions on the ADCMP605, support a wide input signal range with greatly reduced power consumption.The LVDS-compatible output stage is designed to drive any standard LVDS input. The comparator input stage offers robust protection against large input overdrive, and the outputs do not phase reverse when the valid input signal range is exceeded. The ADE12011 is a single channel, configurable, isolated?digital input monitoring solution for energy transmission and?distribution applications. The ADE1201 is configured through?the serial port interface (SPI) to perform an isolated measurement?of the digital input that is also called binary input or contact?input. The ADE1201 digital output signal on the DOUT1 pin?reflects the state of the input signal after user configurable?signal conditioning. The SPI protocol supports addressing to?allow up to eight devices sharing one 4-wire SPI port.The ADE1201 application circuit accepts a wide range of input?voltages from ?10 V dc to ?300 V dc, or 8 V rms to 240 V rms.?The programmable wetting current and robust application?circuit enable the device to meet stringent, system level?electromagnetic capability (EMC) requirements.The ADE1201 includes an isoPower? integrated, isolated dc-to-dc?converter that eliminates the need for an external isolated power?supply. The iCoupler? chip scale transformer technology is?used to isolate the logic signals between the high voltage,?isolated side and the low voltage, nonisolated side of the?digital input monitor. The ADE7816 is a highly accurate, multichannel metering device that is capable of measuring one voltage channel and up to six current channels. It measures line voltage and current and calculates active and reactive energy, as well as instantaneous rms voltage and current. The device incorporates seven sigma-delta (?-?) ADCs with a high accuracy energy measurement core. The six current input channels allow multiple loads to be measured simultaneously. The voltage channel and the six current channels each have a complete signal path allowing for a full range of measurements. Each input channel supports a flexible gain stage and is suitable for use with current transformers (CTs). Six on-chip digital integrators facilitate the use of the Rogowski coil sensors.The ADE7816 provides access to on-chip meter registers via either the SPI or I2C interface. A dedicated high speed interface, the high speed data capture (HSDC) port, can be used in conjunction with I2C to provide access to real-time ADC output information. A full range of power quality information, such as overcurrent, overvoltage, peak, and sag detection, is accessible via the two external interrupt pins, IRQ0 and IRQ1.The ADE7816 energy metering IC operates from a 3.3 V supply voltage and is available in a 40-lead LFCSP that is Pb free and RoHS compliant.
