This board should be connected to a front-end DC/DC power supply for a complete charger solution.

The HMC540SLP3E is a broadband 4-bit Silicon IC digital attenuator in a low cost leadless surface mount package. This single positive control line per bit digital attenuator utilizes off chip AC ground capacitors for near DC operation, making it suitable for a wide variety of RF and IF applications. Covering 0.1 to 8 GHz, the insertion loss is less than 1 dB typical. The attenuator bit values are 1 (LSB), 2, 4 and 8 dB for a total attenuation of 15 dB. Attenuation accuracy is excellent at ? 0.2 dB typical step error. The attenuator also features a IIP3 of +56dBm. Four TTL/CMOS control inputs are used to select each attenuation state. Demonstration circuit 2094A shows the proper way to drive the LTC®2348 family of ADCs. The LTC2348/LTC2347/LTC2343 are low noise, high speed, simultaneous sampling 16-/18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) ADCs. The demo manual refers to the LTC2348-18 but applies to all parts in the family, the only differences being the number of bits, number of channels and the maximum sample rate. The LTC2348-18 has a flexible SoftSpan™ interface that allows conversion-by-conversion control of the input voltage span on a per-channel basis. An internal 2.048V reference and 2X buffer simplify basic operation while an external reference can be used to increase the input range and the SNR of the ADC.

The MODE/PLLIN pin can select between pulse-skipping mode and forced continuous mode operation and allows the IC to be synchronized to an external clock.
