Analog Devices Inc.
The LTC3370 is a highly flexible multioutput power supply IC. The device includes four synchronous buck converters, configured to share eight 1A power stages, each of which is powered from independent 2.25V to 5.5V inputs. The DC/DCs are assigned to one of eight power configurations via pin programmable C1-C3 pins. The common buck switching frequency may be programmed with an external resistor, synchronized to an external oscillator, or set to a default internal 2MHz clock. The operating mode for all DC/DCs may be programmed via the PLL/MODE pin for Burst Mode or forced continuous mode operation. A PGOODALL output indicates when all enabled DC/DCs are within a specified percentage of their final output value. To reduce input noise, the buck converters are phased in 90? steps. Precision enable pin thresholds facilitate reliable power-up sequencing. The LTC3370 is available in a 32-lead 5mm ? 5mm QFN package.Applications General Purpose Multichannel Power Supplies:?Automotive, Industrial, Distributed Power Systems

The HMC701LP6CE is a SiGe BiCMOS fractional-N frequency synthesizer. The synthesizer includes a 8GHz 16-bit RF N-Divider, a 24-bit delta-sigma modulator, a very low noise digital phase frequency detector (PFD), and a precision controlled charge pump. In addition the synthesizer supports an external step tuned VCO.The fractional synthesizer features an advanced delta-sigma modulator design that allows ultra-fine frequency step sizes. The synthesizer features the ability to alter both the phase-frequency detector (PFD) gain and the cycle slipping characteristics of the PFD. This feature can reduce the time to arrive at the new frequency by 50% vs. conventional PFDs. Ultra low in-close phase noise also allows wider loop bandwidths for faster frequency hopping. The synthesizer contains a built-in linear sweeper function, which allows it to perform frequency chirps with a wide variety of sweep times, polarities and dwells, all with an external or automatic sweep trigger.A General Purpose Output (GPO) bus supports the use of multiple VCOs. In addition the synthesizer has a number of auxiliary clock generation modes that can be accessed via the GPO.Applications Base Stations for Mobile Radio (GSM, PCS, DCS, CDMA, WCDMA) Wireless LANs, WiMax Communications Test Equipment CATV Equipment FMCW Sensors Automotive Radar Phased-Array Systems

3.3V VIN, Dual 2A, 6MHz Synchronous Step-Down Regulators at 1.8V and 2.0V Outputs, in a 0.71cm2 Solution
Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration Circuit DC2748A features the LTC3315B dual 5V, 2A Synchronous Step-Down DC/DC regulators operating at 6MHz. One regulator provides a 1.8V output
and the other provides 2.0V, both up to a 2A load. The LTC3315B supports adjustable output voltages from 0.5V to VIN, operating frequencies from 3MHz up to 10MHz. The LTC3315B is a compact, high efficiency, and high speed synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator. Fast minimum on-time of 25ns enables high
VIN to low VOUT conversion at high frequency.
The DC2748A operating mode may be selected as Burst Mode operation, Skip mode or Forced Continuous (FC) mode. Setting JP1 to the FC/SYNC position will allow the
LTC3315B to sync to a clock frequency from 3MHz to 10MHz. The LTC3315B operates in Forced Continuous mode when syncing to an external clock.
The LTC3315B data sheet gives a complete description of the device, operation and application information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with the demo manual. The LTC3315B is assembled in a 2mm × 2mm LQFN package with exposed pads for low thermal resistance. The PCB Considerations section in the data sheet.
The Efficiency vs Load graph on the demo manual shows the efficiency and the power loss of the circuit with a 3.3V input in Burst Mode operation.

ADL5920-EVALZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADL5920 is an ultrawideband, bidirectional detector that simultaneously measures forward and reverse rms power levels in a signal path, along with the return loss. The forward and reverse power traveling through the integrated bidirectional bridge is measured using two 50 dB linear in dB rms detectors. The detector output voltages, available at the VRMSF and VRMSR pins, are proportional to the forward and reflected power in dBm. A third, differential, output produces a voltage proportional to the return loss (reflection coefficient) in dB, closely related to the voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). The common-mode level of this output is externally adjustable through the VOCM pin.The primary transmission line of the bidirectional bridge, from RFIN to RFOUT (or vice versa) is dc-coupled and allows small amounts of dc bias current through the bridge. When dc-coupled to source and load, the positive and negative supply pins of the ADL5920 must be connected to +5 V and ?2.5 V, respectively (relative to the dc voltage at RFIN and RFOUT). The internal detector circuitry is also dc-coupled to the directional bridge to support measurements down to 9 kHz.The maximum input signal on each of the RF ports (RFIN and RFOOUT) is 30 dBm for open and shorted terminations and 33 dBm for a matched termination. The ADL5920 draws 160 mA from a 5 V supply and has a low power, power-down mode controlled through the PWDN/TADJS pin.The device is supplied in a 32-lead, 5 mm ? 5 mm LFCSP and is specified for ambient operating temperatures in the ?40?C to +85?C range.Multifunction pin names may be referenced by their relevant function only.Applications Industrial metering Broadband inline power and return loss measurement Transmit power control and automatic level control in wireless transmitters, signal generators, network analyzers, and wireless communications testers Condition based monitoring of system modules, cables, and connectors
