Demonstration circuit 2786A is a single output high voltage non-isolated synchronous step-down converter that drives an all N-channel MOSFET power stage. It features the LTC7800, a low quiescent current high frequency (programmable fixed frequency from 320kHz up to 2.25MHz) synchronous step-down DC/DC controller housed in a small 3mm x 4mm QFN package.
This DC2786A operates over an input voltage range from 8V to 40V, while the LTC7800 can operate up to 60V. This demo board produces a 3.3V output voltage with up to 10A output current, and is configured with a sense resistor for current sensing. A mode selector allows the DC2786A to operate in forced continuous operation, pulse-skipping or Burst Mode® operation during light loads.
The LTC7800 features two integrated 5V gate drivers with 20ns deadtime which is good for GaN transistors or logic-level MOSFETs to maximize efficiency. The EXTVCC pin permits the LTC7800 to be powered from the output of the switching regulator or other available source, reducing power dissipation and improving efficiency. Demonstration circuit 516A-B is a low output voltage, synchronous boost converter featuring the LTC3424. The LTC3424 is ideal for applications that require an output voltage between 1.5V to 2.6V from a single alkaline or NiCd/NiMH cell. A bias voltage (VDD) of 2.7V to 5.5V is required to power the internal circuitry. The input voltage (VIN) range is 1V to 1.6V, but once up and running, the device can operate with an input voltage as low as 0.5V. The output voltage is set at 1.8V. For a 1V minimum battery voltage, the LTC3424 can provide 600mA.

The LTC3621/LTC3621-2 is a high efficiency 17V, 1A synchronous monolithic step-down regulator. The switching frequency is fixed to 1MHz or 2.25MHz with a ?40% synchronizing range. The regulator features ultralow quiescent current and high efficiencies over a wide VOUT range.The step-down regulator operates from an input voltage range of 2.7V to 17V and provides an adjustable output range from 0.6V to VIN while delivering up to 1A of output current. A user-selectable mode input is provided to allow the user to trade off ripple noise for light load efficiency; Burst Mode operation provides the highest efficiency at light loads, while pulse-skipping mode provides the lowest voltage ripple. The MODE pin can also be used to allow the user to sync the switching frequency to an external clock. The ADuM3070 isolator is a regulated dc-to-dc isolated power supply controller with an internal MOSFET driver. The dc-to-dc controller has an internal isolated PWM feedback from the secondary side based on the iCoupler? chip scale transformer technology and complete loop compensation. This eliminates the need to use an optocoupler for feedback and compensates the loop for stability.The ADuM3070 isolator provides a more stable output voltage and higher efficiency compared to unregulated isolated dc-to-dc power supplies. The fully integrated feedback and loop compensation in a small QSOP package provides a smaller form factor than any discrete solution. The regulated feedback provides a relatively flat efficiency curve over the full output power range. Demonstration circuit 1471 is a monolithic step-down DC/DC switching regulator featuring the LT3990. The switching frequency is adjustable up to 2.2MHz. The demo circuit is designed for 5V, 350mA output from a 6.5V to 62V input. The wide input range of the LT3990 allows a variety of input sources including automotive batteries and 24V industrial supplies. Low ripple Burst Mode increases the efficiency at the light load while keeping the output ripple below 5mV in a typical application. The part is in shutdown when the EN pin is low and active when the pin is high. The threshold of the EN pin is accurate at 1V when VIN is above 4.2V. Adding a resistor divider from VIN to EN can program the LT3990 to regulate the output only when VIN is above a desired voltage. The catch diode and boost diode are integrated to reduce the components count and solution size. The circuit consumes only 2.5μA of quiescent current.

The HMC835LP6GE is a low noise, wide band, Fractional-N PLL that features an integrated VCO with a fundamental frequency of 2020 to 4100 MHz, and an integrated VCO Output Divider (divide by 2/4/6/.../60/62) that together enable the HMC835LP6GE to generate frequencies from 33 MHz to 4100 MHz.
