LTM4630A Demo Board | Dual 18A or Single 36A μModule Regulator
Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 2268A-F is a high efficiency, high
density, dual 8A, switch mode step-down power supply
on a compact 1.5' × 1.2' PCB. It features the LTM4630A
μModule® regulator. The input voltage is from 4.5V to
15V. The output voltage is programmable from 0.6V to
5.3V. DC2268A-F can deliver up to 18A maximum in each
channel. As explained in the data sheet, output current
derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, and thermal
conditions. The board operates in continuous conduction
mode in heavy load conditions. For high efficiency
at low load currents, the resistor jumper (R1/R2) selects
pulse-skipping mode for noise sensitive applications or
Burst-Mode® in less noise sensitive applications. Two outputs
can be connected in parallel for a single 36A output
solution with optional jumper resistors. The board allows
the user to program how its output ramps up and down through the TRACK/SS pin. Remote output voltage sensing
is available for improved output voltage regulation
at the load point. An optional input inductor L1 reduces
the EMI noise for noise sensitive applications. DC2268A
can be easily inserted to an edge connector for testing
and debugging. These features and the availability of the
LTM4630A in a compact 16mm × 16mm × 4.41mm LGA
package make it ideal for use in many high-density point-of-load
regulation applications. The LTM4630A data sheet
must be read in conjunction with this demo manual for
working on or modifying the DC2268A-F.

The LT3088 is an 800mA low dropout linear regulator designed for rugged industrial applications. A key feature of the IC is the extended safe operating area (SOA). The LT3088 can be paralleled for higher output current or heat spreading. The device withstands reverse input and reverse output-to-input voltages without reverse current flow. The LT3088?s precision 50?A reference current source allows a single resistor to program output voltage to any level between zero and 34.5V. The current reference architecture makes load regulation independent of output voltage. The LT3088 is stable with or without input and output capacitors.Internal protection circuitry includes reverse-battery and reverse-current protection, current limiting and thermal limiting. The LT3088 is offered in the 3-lead SOT-223, 3-lead DD-Pak, and an 8-lead 3mm ? 3mm DFN package.Applications All Surface Mount Power Supply Rugged Industrial Power Supply Post Regulator for Switching Supplies Low Output Voltage Supply Intrinsic Safety Applications

The LT1246/LT1247 are 8-pin, fixed frequency, current mode, pulse width modulators. These devices are designed to be improved plug compatible versions of the industry standard UC1842 PWM circuit. The LT1246/LT1247 are optimized for off-line and DC/DC converter applications. They contain a temperature compensated reference, high gain error amplifier, current sensing comparator, and a high current totem pole output stage ideally suited to driving power MOSFETs. Start-up current has been reduced to less than 250?A. Cross-conduction current spikes in the totem pole output stage have been eliminated, making 1MHz operation practical. Several new features have been incorporated. Leading edge blanking has been added to the current sense comparator. This minimizes or eliminates the filter that is normally required. Eliminating this filter allows the current sense loop to operate with minimum delays. Trims have been added to the oscillator circuit for both frequency and sink current, and both of these parameters are tightly specified. The output stage is clamped to a maximum VOUT of 18V in the on state. The output and the reference output are actively pulled low during under-voltage lockout.Applications Off-Line Converters DC/DC Converters

The LTC3890-3 is a high performance dual step-down switching regulator DC/DC controller that drives all N-channel synchronous power MOSFET stages. A constant frequency current mode architecture allows a phase-lockable frequency of up to 850kHz. Power loss and supply noise are minimized by operating the two controller output stages out-of-phase.The 50?A no-load quiescent current extends operating life in battery-powered systems. OPTI-LOOP? compensation allows the transient response to be optimized over a wide range of output capacitance and ESR values. A wide 4V to 60V input supply range encompasses a wide range of intermediate bus voltages and battery chemistries.Independent TRACK/SS pins for each controller ramp the output voltages during start-up. Current mode control limits the inductor current during short-circuit conditions. The PLLIN/MODE pin selects among Burst Mode operation, pulse-skipping mode, or continuous conduction mode at light loads. For versions with different and/or additional features, see the LTC3890 family summary, Table 1, in the Pin Functions section of this data sheet.
