Demonstration Circuit 2611A features the LTC6955, Ultralow Jitter 11 Output Fanout Buffers. By default, the DC2611A is powered from a single 3.3V supply. An option is provided to power to the DC2611A from dual supplies, allowing for the LTC6955’s output supply pins to connect to an LTC Silent Switcher® and the LTC6955 input supply pin to connect to a low noise LDO. The differential inputs and six of the differential outputs are populated with 0.5" spaced SMA connectors. These outputs are AC-coupled with 50Ω transmission lines making them suitable to drive 50Ω impedance instruments. All registered trademarks and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. The remaining four differential outputs are terminated with 100Ω. A calibration path is provided to aid in accurate LTC6955 propagation delay measurements. The calibration path can be also reconfigured as a DC path, which allows for a convenient method of locking the LTC6955 outputs to an external PLL/VCO.

The Analog Devices, Inc., amplifier mezzanine card (AMC) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) driver evaluates the performance of amplifiers in 8-lead, single and dual SOIC, 6-lead single SOT23, 8-lead dual MSOP, and 16-lead LFCSP packages. This add on board can be inserted on ADC evaluation boards using its 7-pin header. Figure 1 shows the AMC mounted on an Analog Devices, Inc., ADC evaluation board. The AMC can support any of Analog Devices operational amplifiers and ADC drivers in different packages. The user can configure the ADC driver as a Sallen-Key low-pass, high-pass, or band-pass filter, as a multiple feedback low-pass, high-pass, or band-pass filter, or as an inverting and noninverting operational amplifier. The user can also configure the AMC to drive a single-ended, fully differential, or a single-ended signal to a differential ADC. Optimized power and ground planes ensure low noise and high speed operation. Component placement and power supply bypassing are optimized for maximum circuit flexibility and performance. The AMC evaluation board accepts 0402 or 0603 surface mount technology (SMT) components, 1206 bypass capacitors, and 2.54 mm headers. All components are placed on the primary side. No components are placed on the secondary side.

The ADP2138 and ADP2139 are high efficiency, low quiescent current, synchronous step-down dc-to-dc converters. The ADP2139 has the additional feature of an internal discharge switch. The total solution requires only three tiny external components. When the MODE pin is set high, the buck regulator operates in forced PWM mode, which provides low peak-to-peak ripple for power supply noise sensitive loads at the expense of light load efficiency. When the MODE pin is set low, the buck regulator automatically switches operating modes, depending on the load current level. At higher output loads, the buck regulator operates in PWM mode. When the load current falls below a predefined threshold, the regulator operates in power save mode (PSM), improving light load efficiency.The ADP2138/ADP2139 operate on input voltages of 2.3 V to 5.5 V, which allows for single lithium or lithium polymer cell, multiple alkaline or NiMH cell, PCMCIA, USB, and other standard power sources. The EVAL-ADL5902-ARDZ shield illustrates the functionality of the ADL5902, a 50 MHz to 9 GHz 65 dB TruPwr™ RMS responding RF power detector. The voltage outputs of the ADL5902 are routed to the ANALOG IN connector of the Arduino base board. This allows the RF power detector’s output voltage to be easily digitized and processed by the Arduino base board’s integrated six-channel ADC. The output of the ADL5902’s on-board temperature sensor is also routed to one of the ANALOG IN pins.
