ADP5091-1-EVALZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The ADP5091/ADP5092 are intelligent, integrated energy harvesting, ultralow power management unit (PMU) solutions that convert dc power from PV cells or TEGs. These devices charge storage elements such as rechargeable Li-Ion batteries, thin film batteries, super capacitors, or conventional capacitors, and power up small electronic devices and battery free systems. The ADP5091/ADP5092 provide efficient conversion of the harvested limited power from a 6 ?W to 600 mW range with submicrowatt operation losses. With the internal cold start circuit, the regulator can start operating at an input voltage as low as 380 mV. After cold startup, the regulator is functional at an input voltage range of 0.08 V to 3.3 V. An additional 150 mA regulated output can be programmed by an external resistor divider or the VID pin.The MPPT control keeps the input voltage ripple in a fixed range to maintain stable dc-to-dc boost conversion. The dynamic sensing mode and no sensing mode, both programming regulation points of the input voltage, allow extraction of the highest possible energy from the harvester. A programmable minimum operation threshold enables boost shutdown during a low input condition. As a low light indicator for a microprocessor, the LLD pin of the ADP5091 is the MINOP comparator output. However, the REG_GOOD flag of the ADP5092 monitors the REG_OUT voltage. In addition, the DIS_SW pin can temporarily shut down the boost regulator and is RF transmission friendly. The charging control function of the ADP5091/ADP5092 protects the rechargeable energy storage, which is achieved by monitoring the battery voltage with the programmable charging termination voltage and the shutdown discharging voltage. In addition, a programmable PGOOD flag monitors the SYS voltage. An optional primary cell battery can be connected and managed by an integrated power path management control block that is programmable to switch the power source from the energy harvester, rechargeable battery, and primary cell battery. The ADP5091/ADP5092 are available in a 24-lead LFCSP and are rated for a ?40?C to +125?C temperature range.Applications Photovoltaic (PV) cell energy harvesting Thermoelectric generators (TEGs) energy harvesting Industrial monitoring Self powered wireless sensor devices Portable and wearable devices with energy harvesting

The LTC4227 offers ideal diode-OR and Hot Swap? functions for two power rails by controlling external Nchannel MOSFETs. MOSFETs acting as ideal diodes replace two high power Schottky diodes and the associated heat sinks, saving power and board area. A Hot Swap control MOSFET allows a board to be safely inserted and removed from a live backplane by limiting inrush current. The supply output is also protected against short-circuit faults with a fast acting current limit and internal timed circuit breaker. The LTC4227 regulates the forward voltage drop across the MOSFETs to ensure smooth current transfer from one supply to the other without oscillation. The ideal diodes turn on quickly to reduce the load voltage droop during supply switchover. If the input supply fails or is shorted, a fast turn-off minimizes reverse-current transients. The LTC4227 allows turn-on/off control, and reports fault and power good status for the supply. The LTC1844 Series are low noise VLDO? (very low dropout) linear regulators designed for low power/portable applications. These regulators can operate from input voltages as low as 1.6V. Typical output noise is only 30?VRMS and typical dropout for the LTC1844-3.3 is just 90mV at the maximum load current of 150mA, reducing to 30mV at 50mA.The internal P-channel MOSFET pass transistor requires no base current, allowing the device to draw only 35?A during normal operation, independent of the dropout voltage and load current. The quiescent current falls to a negligible 10nA during shutdown.Other features include high output voltage accuracy, excellent transient response, stability with ultralow ESR ceramic capacitors as small as 1?F, reverse-battery and reverse-current protection, short-circuit and thermal overload protection and output current limiting. The LTC1844 regulators are available in a low profile (1mm) SOT-23 (ThinSOT?) package.Applications Portable Instruments and Battery-Powered Systems Bluetooth/802.11 Cards Cellular Phones PDAs and Notebook Computers

LTC3372EUK#PBF Demo Board | 6V ≤ VIN ≤ 60V, VOUT_HV = 5V or 3.3V @ 10A; VOUT1 =1.2V @2A, VOUT2 =1.8V @2A, VOUT3 =2.5V @2A, VOUT4 =3.3V @2A

Analog Devices Inc.
Demonstration circuit 2419A features the LTC3372 in a multi-output step-down converter. The controller portion of the LTC3372 drives a high output voltage (HV) buck converter which has an input voltage range of 6V to 60V. Its output voltage (VOUT_HV) is nominally 5V but can be configured for either 5V or 3.3V with the VOUTPRG pin. VOUT_HV supplies power to the configurable buck regulator. This regulator provides four low voltage (LV) outputs labelled VOUT1-4. These outputs are 1.2V/2A, 1.8V/2A, 2.5V/2A and 3.3V/2A respectively. When VOUT_HV is configured for 5V, it can supply 6A to the external loads with full load on VOUT1-4. With no load on VOUT1-4, VOUT_HV can supply 10A to the external loads. The LV buck regulator consists of eight power stages that can be arranged in up to four channels. The LV regulator on the DC2419A is setup for four channels of two power stages each. With modifications, the LV buck regulator can be setup for eight different configurations. If VOUT_HV is programmed for 3.3V, then VOUT4 which provides 3.3V/2A will be in dropout. This rail will require an external input voltage to stay in regulation. The LV rails operate at 2MHz and the HV converter operates at one-sixth this frequency or 333kHz. The high frequency of the LV rails allows the use of 4mm × 4mm inductors. The power stage for the HV converter consists of 60V avalanche rated MOSFETs and a 2.2μH 10mm × 10mm inductor. A 4mΩ discrete sense resistor is used to sense current. The low IQ current of the LTC3372 provides high efficiency at light loads. When the VOUT_HV is supplying the nominal 5V, its Burst Mode® efficiency with 1mA load is 90.3% for a 12V input. When the HV converter is off, it only draws 27μA from a 12V input. The LTC3372 data sheet provides a complete description of the IC operation and application information. The data sheet must be read in conjunction with the quick start guide.
