The LT3478/LT3478-1 are 4.5A step-up DC/DC converters designed to drive LEDs with a constant current over a wide programmable range. Series connection of the LEDs provides identical LED currents for uniform brightness without the need for ballast resistors and expensive factory calibration. The LT3478-1 reduces external component count and cost by integrating the LED current sense resistor. The LT3478 uses an external sense resistor to extend the maximum programmable LED current beyond 1A and also to achieve greater accuracy when programming low LED currents. Operating frequency can be set with an external resistor from 200kHz up to 2.25MHz. Unique circuitry allows a PWM dimming range up to 3000:1 while maintaining constant LED color. The LT3478/LT3478-1 are ideal for high power LED driver applications such as automotive TFT LCD backlights, courtesy lighting and heads-up displays. One of two CTRL pins can be used to program maximum LED current. The other CTRL pin can be used to program a reduction in maximum LED current vs temperature to maximize LED usage and improve reliability.Additional features include inrush current protection, programmable open LED protection and programmable soft-start. Each part is available in a 16-pin thermally enhanced TSSOP Package.Applications High Power LED Driver Automotive Lighting

The ADP1870 / ADP1871?are versatile current-mode, synchronous step-down controllers that provide superior transient response, optimal stability, and current-limit protection by using a constant on-time, pseudo-fixed frequency with a programmable current limit, current-control scheme. In addition, these devices offer optimum performance at low duty cycles by utilizing valley current-mode control architecture. This allows the ADP1870 / ADP1871 to drive all N-channel power stages to regulate output voltages as low as 0.6 V.The ADP1871 is the power saving mode (PSM) version of the device and is capable of pulse skipping to maintain output regulation while achieving improved system efficiency at light loads (see the Power Saving Mode (PSM) Version (ADP1871) section for more information).Available in three frequency options (300 kHz, 600 kHz, and 1.0 MHz, plus the PSM option), the ADP1870 / ADP1871 are well suited for a wide range of applications that require a single-input power supply range from 2.95 V to 20 V. Low voltage biasing is supplied via a 5 V internal LDO.In addition, an internally fixed soft start period is included to limit input in-rush current from the input supply during startup and to provide reverse current protection during soft start for a precharged output. The low-side current-sense, current-gain scheme and integration of a boost diode, along with the PSM/forced pulse width modulation (PWM) option, reduce the external part count and improve efficiency. The ADP1870 / ADP1871 operate over the -40?C to +125?C junction temperature range and are available in 10-lead MSOP package.

The LTC3766 is a PolyPhase-capable secondary-side controller for synchronous forward converters. When used in conjunction with the LTC3765 active-clamp forward controller and gate driver, the part creates a complete isolated power supply that combines the power of multiphase operation with the speed of secondary-side control. The LTC3766 has been designed to simplify the design of active clamp forward converters. Working in concert with the LTC3765, the LTC3766 forms a robust, self-starting converter that eliminates the need for the separate bias regulator that is commonly used in secondary-side control applications. A precision current-limit coupled with clean start-up into a pre-biased load make the LTC3766 an excellent choice for high-power battery charger applications. The LTC3766 provides extensive remote sensing and output protection features, while Direct Flux Limit guarantees no transformer saturation without compromising transient response. A linear regulator controller and internal bypass LDO are also provided to simplify the generation of the secondary-side bias voltage.Applications Isolated 48V Telecommunication Systems Isolated Battery Chargers Automotive and Military Systems Industrial, Avionics and Heavy Equipment

The LTC5584 is a direct conversion quadrature demodulator optimized for high linearity receiver applications in the 30MHz to 1.4GHz frequency range. It is also usable in the 10MHz to 30MHz and 1.4GHz to 2GHz ranges with reduced performance. It is suitable for communications receivers where an RF signal is directly converted into I and Q baseband signals with bandwidth of 530MHz or higher. The LTC5584 incorporates balanced I and Q mixers, LO buffer amplifiers and a precision, high frequency quadrature phase shifter. In addition, the LTC5584 provides four analog control voltage interface pins for IIP2 and DC offset correction, greatly simplifying system calibration. The high linearity of the LTC5584 provides excellent spurfree dynamic range for the receiver. This direct conversion demodulator can eliminate the need for intermediate frequency (IF) signal processing, as well as the corresponding requirements for image filtering and IF filtering. These I/Q outputs can interface directly to channel-select filters (LPFs) or to baseband amplifiers.Applications LTE/W-CDMA/TD-SCDMA Base Station Receivers Wideband DPD Receivers Point-To-Point Broadband Radios High Linearity Direct Conversion I/Q Receivers Image Rejection Receivers

Demonstration circuit 760 is a dual, output, 1.1MHz Boost/Inverter in a 3mm x 3mm DFN featuring the LT3472EDD. The demo circuit demonstrates small size and low component count in a Boost Circuit and an Inverting Circuit. The Boost Converter is designed to convert a 2.7V–4.2V input to 15V output at 25mA– 45mA load. The Inverting Circuit generates a –8V output at 35mA–65mA from the same input. Since the maximum VIN of the LT3472EDD is 16V, this demo circuit will work well at higher inputs. The only limitation is the 10V rating of the input capacitor.
