Demonstration circuit 2543B is a high efficiency, high density, open loop charge pump (inductorless) DC/DC converter. This demo board is a voltage divider which achieves a 2:1 step-down ratio from an input voltage from 36V to 60V. The output voltage is a fixed ratio of half of the input voltage (VIN/2) and can supply a 10A load current. This demo board has the option to deliver a 20A maximum load with the addition of 15 chip capacitors. The DC2543B provides a very high efficiency solution of 98.7% when converting 48VIN to 24VOUT at 10A. When configured for a 20A output, an efficiency of up to 98.4% is achievable for a 48VIN to 24VOUT at 20A. The demo board features the LTC7820, a fixed ratio high voltage high power switched capacitor/charge pump controller in a 4mm × 5mm QFN package. Please see LTC7820 data sheet for more detailed information. The DC2543B needs to be powered on with no load current or a very small load current (less than 50mA) with the default setup. Large load current can be applied after VO is established. The board offers a disconnect FET option which is controlled by the LTC7820 FAULT pin to disconnect the load during startup as shown in the schematic. Please refer to “Voltage Divider Prebalance Before Switching” section in the LTC7820 data sheet for more details regarding the startup of the voltage divider. The board also features some protection functions such as overcurrent and thermal shutdown to make it a reliable solution.

Demonstration circuit 1807A is a dual output, dual phase synchronous buck converter featuring the LTC3869EUFD. The input voltage range is 4.5V to 14V, output voltages and currents are 1.5V/15A and 1.2V/15A. Two versions of the board are available. DC1807A-A has an on-board sense resistor for current feedback, while the DC1807A-B is configured with a DCR sense circuit that allows the converter to use the inductors DCR as the sense element instead of the on-board sense resistors to save cost and board space and improves efficiency.

The ADM1192 is an integrated current sense amplifier that offers digital current and voltage monitoring via an on-chip, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), communicated through an I2C interface.An internal current sense amplifier senses voltage across the sense resistor in the power path via the VCC pin and the SENSE pin.A 12-bit ADC can measure the current seen in the sense resistor and in the supply voltage on the VCC pin. An industry-standard I2C interface allows a controller to read current and voltage data from the ADC. Measurements can be initiated by an I2C command. Alternatively, the ADC can run continuously, and the user can read the latest conversion data whenever it is required. Up to four unique I2C addresses can be created, depending on the way the ADR pin is connected.A SETV pin is also included. A voltage applied to this pin is internally compared to the output voltage on the current sense amplifier. The ADMV1014 is a silicon germanium (SiGe), wideband, microwave downconverter optimized for point to point microwave radio designs operating in the 24 GHz to 44 GHz frequency range.The downconverter offers two modes of frequency translation. The device is capable of direct quadrature demodulation to baseband inphase (I)/quadrature (Q) output signals, as well as image rejection downconversion to a complex intermediate frequency (IF) output carrier frequency. The baseband outputs can be dc-coupled, or, more typically, the I/Q outputs are ac-coupled with a sufficiently low high-pass corner frequency to ensure adequate demodulation accuracy. The serial port interface (SPI) allows fine adjustment of the quadrature phase to allow the user to optimize I/Q demodulation performance. Alternatively, the baseband I/Q outputs can be disabled, and the I/Q signals can be passed through an on-chip active balun to provide two single-ended complex IF outputs anywhere between 800 MHz and 6000 MHz.
