AD790JRZ

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD790 is a fast (45 ns), precise voltage comparator, with a number of features that make it exceptionally versatile and easy to use. The AD790 may operate from either a single +5 V supply or a dual ±15 V supply. In the single-supply mode, the AD790's inputs maybe referred to ground, a feature not found in other comparators. In the dual-supply mode it has the unique ability of handling a maximum differential voltage of 15 V across its input terminals, easing their interfacing to large amplitude and dynamic signals. The device is fabricated using Analog Devices' Complementary Bipolar (CB) process - which gives the AD790's combination of fast response time and outstanding input voltage resolution (1mV max). To preserve its speed and accuracy, the AD790 incorporates a 'low glitch' output stage that does not exhibit the large current spikes normally found in TTL or CMOS output stages. Its controlled switching reduces power supply disturbances that can feed back to the input and cause undesired oscillations. The AD790 also has a latching function which makes it suitable for applications requiring synchronous operation. The AD790 is available in five performance grades. The AD790J and the AD790K are rated over the commercial temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. The AD790a and AD790B are rated over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. The AD790S is rated over the military temperature range of −55°C to +125°C and is available to MIL-STD-883B, Rev. C.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS The AD790’s combination of speed, precision, versatility and low cost makes it suitable as a general purpose comparator in analog signal processing and data acquisition systems. Built-in hysteresis and a low-glitch output stage minimize the chance of unwanted oscillations, making the AD790 easier to use than standard open-loop comparators. The hysteresis combined with a wide input voltage range enables the AD790 to respond to both slow, low level (e.g., 10 mV) signals and fast, large amplitude (e.g., 10 V) signals. A wide variety of supply voltages is acceptable for operation of the AD790, ranging from single 5 V to dual +5 V/–12 V, ±5 V, or +5 V/±15 V supplies. The AD790’s power dissipation is the lowest of any comparator in its speed range. The AD790’s output swing is symmetric between VLOGIC and ground, thus providing a predictable output under a wide range of input and output conditions.APPLICATIONS Zero-Crossing Detectors Overvoltage Detectors Pulse-Width Modulators Precision Rectifiers Discrete A/D Converters Delta-Sigma Modulator A/Ds

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD797 is a very low noise, low distortion operational amplifier ideal for use as a preamplifier. The low noise of 0.9 nV√Hz and low total harmonic distortion of -120 dB at audio bandwidths give the AD797 the wide dynamic range necessary for preamps in microphones and mixing consoles.Furthermore, the AD797's excellent slew rate of 20 V/µs and 110 MHz gain bandwidth make it highly suitable for low frequency ultrasound applications. The AD797 is also useful in IR and Sonar Imaging applications where the widest dynamic range is necessary. The low distortion and 16-bit settling time of the AD797 make it ideal for buffering the inputs to Sigma Delta ADCs or the outputs of high resolution DACs especially when they are used in critical applications such as seismic detection and spectrum analyzers. Key features such as a 50 mA output current drive and the specified power supply voltage range of ±5 to ±15 volts make the AD797 an excellent general purpose amplifier.APPLICATIONS Professional audio preamplifiers IR, CCD, and sonar imaging systems Spectrum analyzers Ultrasound preamplifiers Seismic detectors Σ-Δ ADC/DAC buffers

The AD8040 is a quad, rail-to-rail input and output high speed amplifier with a quiescent current of only 1.3 mA per amplifier. Despite its low power consumption, the amplifier provides excellent performance with 125MHz small signal bandwidth and 60 V/µs slew rate. ADI's proprietary XFCB process enables high speed and high performance on low power. This amplifier exhibits true single-supply operation with rail-to-rail input and output performance for supply voltages ranging from 2.7V to 12V. The input voltage range extends 200 mV beyond each rail without phase reversal. The dynamic range of the output extends to within 40 mV of each rail. The AD8040 provides excellent signal quality with minimal power dissipation. At G=+1, SFDR is -72dBc at 1MHz and settling time to 0.1% is only 80 ns. Low distortion and fast settling performance makes this amplifier a suitable driver for single-supply A/D converters. The versatility of the AD8040 allows the user to operate the amplifier on a wide range of supplies while consuming less than 6.5 mW of power. This feature extends the operation time in applications ranging from battery-powered systems with large bandwidth requirements to high speed systems where component density requires lower power dissipation. The amplifier is rated over the extended industrial temperature range, -40°C to +125°C.

The AD8099 is an ultralow noise (0.95nV/√Hz) and distortion (-92dBc @ 10MHz) voltage feedback op amp, the combination of which make it ideal for 16- and 18-bit systems. The AD8099 features a new, highly linear, low noise input stage that increases the full power bandwidth (FPBW) at low gains with high slew rates. ADI's proprietary next generation XFCB process enables such high performance amplifiers with relatively low power. The AD8099 features external compensation, which allows the user to set the gain bandwidth product. External compensation allows gains from +2 to +10 with minimal trade-off in bandwidth. The AD8099 also features an extremely high slew rate of 1350V/µs, giving the designer flexibility to use the entire dynamic range without trading off bandwidth or distortion. The AD8099 settles to 0.1% in 18 ns and recovers from overdrive in 50 ns.The AD8099 drives 100 W loads at breakthrough performance levels with only 15 mA of supply current. With the wide supply voltage range (5V to 12V), low offset voltage (0.1 mV typ), wide bandwidth (700MHz for G=+2), and a GBWP up to 3.8GHz, the AD8099 is designed to work in a wide variety of applications. The AD8099 is available in 3mm x 3mm lead frame chip scale package (LFCSP) with a new pinout that is specifically optimized for high performance, high speed amplifiers. Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8601, AD8602, and AD8604 are single, dual, and quad rail-to-rail, input and output, single-supply amplifiers featuring very low offset voltage and wide signal bandwidth. These amplifiers use a new, patented trimming technique that achieves superior performance without laser trimming. All are fully specified to operate on a 3 V to 5 V single supply. The combination of low offsets, very low input bias currents, and high speed make these amplifiers useful in a wide variety of applications. Filters, integrators, diode amplifiers, shunt current sensors, and high impedance sensors all benefit from the combination of performance features. Audio and other ac applications benefit from the wide bandwidth and low distortion. For the most cost-sensitive applications, the D grades offer this ac performance with lower dc precision at a lower price point.Applications for these amplifiers include audio amplification for portable devices, portable phone headsets, bar code scanners, portable instruments, cellular PA controls, and multipole filters. The ability to swing rail-to-rail at both the input and output enables designers to buffer CMOS ADCs, DACs, ASICs, and other wide output swing devices in single-supply systems. The AD8601, AD8602, and AD8604 are specified over the extended industrial (−40°C to +125°C) temperature range. The AD8601, single, is available in a tiny, 5-lead SOT-23 package. The AD8602, dual, is available in 8-lead MSOP and 8-lead, narrow SOIC surface-mount packages. The AD8604, quad, is available in 14-lead TSSOP, 14-lead SOIC, and 16-lead QSOP packages.
