The AD8278 and AD8279 are general-purpose difference amplifiers intended for precision signal conditioning in power critical applications that require both high performance and low power. The AD8278 and AD8279 provide exceptional common-mode rejection ratio (80 dB) and high bandwidth while amplifying input signals that are well beyond the supply rails. The on-chip resistors are laser trimmed for excellent gain accuracy and high CMRR. They also have extremely low gain drift vs. temperature.The common-mode range of the amplifier extends to almost triple the supply voltage (for G = ½), making the amplifer ideal for single-supply applications that require a high common-mode voltage range. The internal resistors and ESD circuitry at the inputs also provide overvoltage protection to the op amp.The AD8278 and AD8279 can be used as difference amplifiers with G = ½ or G = 2. They can also be connected in a high precision, single-ended configuration for non inverting and inverting gains of −½, −2, +3, +2, +1½, +1, or +½. The AD8278 and AD8279 provide an integrated precision solution that has a smaller size, lower cost, and better performance than a discrete alternative.The AD8278 and AD8279 operate on single supplies (2.0 V to 36 V) or dual supplies (±2 V to ±18 V). The maximum quiescent supply current is 200 μA, which is ideal for battery-operated and portable systems. The AD605 is a low noise, accurate, dual-channel, linear-in-dB variable gain amplifier (VGA), optimized for any application requiring high performance, wide bandwidth variable gain control. Operating from a single 5 V supply, the AD605 provides differential inputs and unipolar gain control for ease of use. Added flexibility is achieved with a user-determined gain range and an external reference input that provide user-determined gain scaling (dB/V). The high performance linear-in-dB response of the AD605 is achieved with the differential input, single-supply, exponential amplifier (DSX-AMP) architecture. Each of the DSX-AMPs comprises a variable attenuator of 0 dB to −48.4 dB followed by a high speed, fixed-gain amplifier. The attenuator is based on a 7-stage R-1.5R ladder network. The attenuation between tap points is 6.908 dB, and 48.360 dB for the entire ladder network. The DSX-AMP architecture results in 1.8 nV/√Hz input noise spectral density and accepts a ±2.0 V input signal when VOCM is biased at VP/2. Each independent channel of the AD605 provides a gain range of 48 dB that can be optimized for the application. Gain ranges between −14 dB to +34 dB and 0 dB to +48 dB can be selected by a single resistor between Pin FBK and Pin OUT. The lower and upper gain ranges are determined by shorting Pin FBK to Pin OUT or leaving Pin FBK unconnected, respectively. The two channels of the AD605 can be cascaded to provide 96 dB of very accurate gain range in a monolithic package. The gain control interface provides an input resistance of approximately 2 MΩ and scale factors from 20 dB/V to 30 dB/V for a VREF input voltage of 2.5 V to 1.67 V, respectively. Note that scale factors up to 40 dB/V are achievable with reduced accuracy for scales above 30 dB/V. The gain scales linearly in dB with control voltages (VGN) of 0.4 V to 2.4 V for the 20 dB/V scale and 0.20 V to 1.20 V for the 40 dB/V scale. Furthermore, the AD620 features 8-lead SOIC and DIP packaging that is smaller than discrete designs and offers lower power (only 1.3 mA max supply current), making it a good fit for battery powered, portable (or remote) applications.The AD620, with its high accuracy of 40 ppm maximum nonlinearity, low offset voltage of 50 µV max, and offset drift of 0.6 µV/°C max, is ideal for use in precision data acquisition systems, such as weigh scales and transducer interfaces. Furthermore, the low noise, low input bias current, and low power of the AD620 make it well suited for medical applications such as ECG and noninvasive blood pressure monitors.The low input bias current of 1.0 nA max is made possible with the use of Superϐeta processing in the input stage. The AD620 works well as a preamplifier due to its low input voltage noise of 9 nV/√Hz at 1 kHz, 0.28 μV p-p in the 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz band, and 0.1 pA/√Hz input current noise. When used to scale high voltages, it allows simple conversion of standard control voltages or currents for use with single-supply ADCs. A wideband feedback loop minimizes distortion effects due to capacitor charging of Σ-Δ ADCs.A reference pin (VREF) provides a dc offset for converting bipolar to single-sided signals. The AD628 converts +5 V, +10 V, ±5 V, ±10 V, and 4 to 20 mA input signals to a single-ended output within the input range of single-supply ADCs.The AD628 has an input common mode and differential mode operating range of ±120 V. The high common mode, input impedance makes the device well suited for high voltage measurements across a shunt resistor. The inverting input of the buffer amplifier is available for making a remote Kelvin connection.A precision 10 kΩ resistor connected to an external pin is provided for either a low-pass filter or to attenuate large differential input signals. The AD8009 is an ultrahigh speed current feedback amplifier with a phenomenal 5,500 V/µs slew rate that results in a rise time of 545 ps, making it ideal as a pulse amplifier.The high slew rate reduces the effect of slew rate limiting and results in the large signal bandwidth of 440 MHz required for high resolution video graphic systems. Signal quality is maintained over a wide bandwidth with worst case distortion of -40 dBc @ 250 MHz (G = +10, 1 V p-p). For applications with multitone signals such as IF signal chains, the third order Intercept (3IP) of 12 dBm is achieved at the same frequency. This distortion performance coupled with the current feedback architecture make the AD8009 a flexible component for a gain stage amplifier in IF/RF signal chains.The AD8009 is capable of delivering over 175 mA of load current and will drive four back terminated video loads while maintaining low differential gain and phase error of 0.02% & 0.04° respectively. The high drive capability is also reflected in the ability to deliver 10 dBm of output power @ 70 MHz with -38 dBc SFDR.The AD8009 is available in a small SOIC package and will operate over the industrial temperature range -40° C to +85° C.
