MAX14745LEWX+T
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX14745 is a battery-charge-management solution ideal for low-power wearable applications. The device includes a linear battery charger with a smart power selector and several power-optimized peripherals. The MAX14745 features two ultra-low quiescent current buck regulators and three ultra-low quiescent current low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators, providing up to five regulated voltages, each with an ultra-low quiescent current, allows designers to minimize power consumption and extend battery life in 24/7 operation devices, such as those in the wearable market. The battery charger features a smart power selector that allows operation on a dead battery when connected to a power source. To avoid overloading a power adapter, the input current to the smart power selector is limited based on an I2C register setting. If the charger power source is unable to supply the entire system load, the smart power control circuit supplements the system load with current from the battery. The charger also supports temperature dependent charge currents. The two synchronous, high-efficiency step-down buck regulators feature a variable frequency mode for increased efficiency during light-load operation. The output voltage of these regulators can be programmed through I2C with the default preconfigured. The buck regulators cansupport dynamic voltage scaling to further improve system power consumption. The three configurable LDOs each have a dedicated input pin. Each LDO regulator output voltage can be programmed through I2C with the default preconfigured. The linear regulators can also be configured to operate as power switches that may be used to disconnect the quiescent load of the system peripherals. The MAX14745 features a programmable power controller that allows the device to be configured for applications that require the device be in a true-off, or always-on, state. The controller also provides a delayed reset signal and voltage sequencing. The MAX14745 is available in a 36-bump, 0.4mm pitch, 2.72mm x 2.47mm wafer-level package (WLP).ApplicationsFitness MonitorsRechargeable IoT devicesWearable Electronics

The MAX14746/MAX14747 are a series of USB charger detectors with an integrated Smart Power Selector™ linear charger solutions that provide a single-chip solution for charging and charger detection. The MAX14746/MAX14747 charger detectors are compliant to USB Battery Charger Detection Rev 1.2* and capable of detecting multiple USB battery-charging methods, including Standard Downstream Ports (SDP), Charging Downstream Ports (CDP), and Dedicated Charger Ports (DCP). The devices also detect common proprietary charge adapters, including those from Apple. The MAX14746/MAX14747 battery chargers feature Smart Power Selector operation, allowing operation with dead or no battery present. The devices limits USB VBUS current based on the detect charger source type. If the charger power source is unable to supply the entire system load, the smart-power control circuit supplements the system load with current from the battery. The devices protect against overvoltage faults up to 28V. This series of USB charger detectors are available with several options, with slight variations in, for example, power-up states. These variations are noted throughout this data sheet. There are five options available with slight variations in, for example, power-up states. The devices are available in a 25-ball, 0.4mm pitch wafer-level package (WLP), and are specified over the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.ApplicationsPortable Consumer DevicesPortable Digital CamerasPortable Digital Video CamerasPortable Industrial Devices

The MAX20094/MAX20095 ICs combine a configurable constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) battery charger with a high-efficiency synchronous boost controller to supply critical systems in the event the primary power source is lost. In addition, diagnostic features are available to check battery state-of-health (SOH) and IC functionality. Charging thresholds and the boost output voltage are configurable to support popular battery chemistries and a wide range of cell counts. To support system integration, the ICs have an I2C target port through which configuration and status bits can be accessed.Switching frequency of 2.2MHz also helps to reduce system cost by minimizing inductor size. The ICs also include a precision battery SOH check and have built-in functionality to minimize leakage current out of the backup battery (BUB).The MAX20094/MAX20095 are available in a 28-pin (5mm x 5mm) side-wettable TQFN package and are AECQ-100 qualified.ApplicationsAutomotive Telematics Battery BackupSingle or Multicell Battery-Backup Systems

The LTC4000-1 is a high voltage, high performance controller that converts many externally compensated DC/DC power supplies into full-featured battery chargers with maximum power point control. In contrast to the LTC4000, the LTC4000-1 has an input voltage regulation loop instead of the input current regulation loop.Features of the LTC4000-1’s battery charger include: accurate (±0.25%) programmable float voltage, selectable timer or current termination, temperature qualified charging using an NTC thermistor, automatic recharge, C/10 trickle charge for deeply discharged cells, bad battery detection and status indicator outputs. The battery charger also includes precision current sensing that allows lower sense voltages for high current applications. The LTC4000-1 supports intelligent PowerPath control. An external PFET provides low loss reverse current protection. Another external PFET provides low loss charging or discharging of the battery. This second PFET also facilitates an instant-on feature that provides immediate downstream system power even when connected to a heavily discharged or shorted battery. The LTC4000-1 is available in a low profile 28-lead 4mm × 5mm QFN and SSOP packages. MAX8663ETL+
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX8662/MAX8663 power-management ICs (PMICs) are efficient, compact devices suitable for smart cellular phones, PDAs, Internet appliances, and other portable devices. They integrate two synchronous buck regulators, a boost regulator driving two to seven white LEDs, four low-dropout linear regulators (LDOs), and a linear charger for a single-cell Li-ion (Li+) battery.Maxim's Smart Power Selector™ (SPS) safely distributes power between an external power source (AC adapter, auto adapter, or USB source), battery, and the system load. When system load peaks exceed the external source capability, the battery supplies supplemental current. When system load requirements are small, residual power from the external power source charges the battery. A thermal-limiting circuit limits battery-charge rate and external power-source current to prevent overheating. The PMIC also allows the system to operate with no battery or a discharged battery. The MAX8662 is available in a 6mm x 6mm, 48-pin TQFN package, while the MAX8663, without the LED driver, is available in a 5mm x 5mm, 40-pin TQFN package.Applications3G Smart cellular phonesOther Handheld DevicesPDAs, portable media players (PMPs)Portable GPS Navigation Devices (PNDs)

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX8677A is an integrated 1-cell Li+ charger and Smart Power Selector™ with dual (DC and USB) power inputs. It can operate with either separate inputs for USB and AC adapter power*, or from a single input that accepts both. All power switches for charging and switching the load between battery and external power are included on-chip. No external MOSFETs are required. The MAX8677A features a Smart Power Selector to make the best use of limited USB or adapter power. The battery charge current and input current limit are independently set up to 1.5A and 2A, respectively. Input power not used by the system charges the battery. USB input current can be set to 100mA or 500mA. Automatic input selection switches the system load from battery to external power.Other features include overvoltage protection (OVP), charge status and fault outputs, power-OK monitors, charge timer, and battery thermistor monitor. Additionally, on-chip thermal limiting reduces the battery charge rate to prevent overheating. The MAX8677A is available in a 4mm x 4mm, 24-pin TQFN-EP package.ApplicationsDigital CamerasGPS NavigationPDAs, Palmtops, and Wireless HandheldsPortable Media/MP3 PlayersSmart Cell Phones
