MAX9249GCM/V+

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX9249 serializer with LVDS system interface utilizes Maxim's Gigabit multimedia serial link (GMSL) technology. The MAX9249 serializer pairs with any GMSL deserializer to form a complete digital serial link for joint transmission of high-speed video, audio, and control data. The MAX9249 allows a maximum serial payload data rate of 2.5Gbps for a 15m shielded twisted-pair (STP) cable. The serializer operates up to a maximum clock rate of 104MHz (3-channel LVDS) or 78MHz (4-channel LVDS). This serial link supports display panels from QVGA (320 x 240) to WXGA (1280 x 800) and higher with 24-bit color. The 3-channel mode handles three lanes of LVDS data (21 bits), UART control signals, and three audio signals. The 4-channel mode handles four lanes of LVDS data (28 bits), UART control signals, three audio signals, and/or up to three auxiliary parallel inputs. The three audio inputs form a standard I²S interface, supporting sample rates from 8kHz to 192kHz and audio word lengths of 4 to 32 bits. The embedded control channel forms a full-duplex, differential, 100kbps to 1Mbps UART link between the serializer and deserializer. The electronic control unit (ECU), or microcontroller (µC), can be located on the MAX9249 side of the link (typical for video display), on the deserializer side of the link (typical for image sensing), or on both sides. In addition, the control channel enables ECU/µC control of peripherals on the remote side, such as backlight control, grayscale Gamma correction, camera module, and touch screen. Base-mode communication with peripherals uses either I²C or the GMSL UART format. A bypass mode enables full-duplex communication using custom UART formats. The MAX9249 serializer driver preemphasis, along with the channel equalizer on the GMSL deserializer, extends the link length and enhances the link reliability. Spread spectrum is available on the MAX9249 to reduce EMI on the serial link and the parallel output of the GMSL deserializer. The serial output complies with ISO 10605 and IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection standards. The core supply for the MAX9249 is 1.8V. The I/O supply ranges from 1.8V to 3.3V. The MAX9249 is available in a 48-pin TQFP package (7mm x 7mm) with an exposed pad. Electrical performance is guaranteed over the -40°C to +105°C automotive temperature range.ApplicationsHigh-Resolution Automotive NavigationMegapixel Camera SystemsRear-Seat Infotainment

LTC2871CFE#TRPBF

Analog Devices Inc.
The LTC2870/LTC2871 are robust pin-configurable multiprotocol transceivers, supporting RS232, RS485, and RS422 protocols, operating on a single 3V to 5.5V supply. The LTC2870 can be configured as two RS232 single-ended transceivers or one RS485 differential transceiver on shared I/O lines. The LTC2871 offers independent control of two RS232 transceivers and one RS485 transceiver, each on dedicated I/O lines. Pin-controlled integrated termination resistors allow for easy interface reconfiguration, eliminating external resistors and control relays. Half-duplex switches allow four-wire and two-wire RS485 configurations. Loopback mode steers the driver inputs to the receiver outputs for diagnostic self-test.The RS485 receivers support up to 256 nodes per bus, and feature full failsafe operation for floating, shorted or terminated inputs. An integrated DC/DC boost converter uses a tiny 2mm × 1.6mm inductor and one capacitor, eliminating the need for multiple supplies for driving RS232 levels.Applications Flexible RS232/RS485/RS422 Interface Software Selectable Multiprotocol Interface Ports Point-of-Sale Terminals Cable Repeaters Protocol Translators

USB2PMB1#

Analog Devices Inc.
This document explains how the Munich (USB2PMB1#) adapter board receives commands from a laptop through the USB to create an SPI interface. Hardware design files as well as results on interfacing USB2PMB1# with MAX11300PMB1, Santa Fe (MAXREFDES5#), Campbell (MAXREFDES4#), Fresno (MAXREFDES11#), and Corona (MAXREFDES12#) are provided.Portability has become another word for convenience. These days, almost all of us carry laptops, and this advantage can be used to showcase parts to the customers offering solutions that can cater to their needs. To have that convenience, we need to have a board that interfaces with our laptops to the signal chain electronics that are present on many of the industrial, medical, and consumer applications. This adapter board serves this purpose of being a bridge between your laptop and your SPI-enabled devices. The Maxim USB2PMB1# board requires custom software and can be ordered together as an evaluation system (EV system). The Munich design integrates a low-power, 1.2A, PWM step-down DC-DC converter (MAX1556); a dual, high-speed, USB-to-multipurpose UART/FIFO IC (FT2232HL); and a 4K MICROWIRE®-compatible serial EEPROM. This Munich adapter board is used to enable USB-to-SPI interface for any Pmod™-compatible plugin peripheral modules such as the Maxim Campbell, Santa Fe, Fresno, and Corona reference designs.Ordering information for EV systems is included in the EV kits’ corresponding data sheet. An EV system is an EV kit combined with an interface board such as a USB2PMB1# and custom software. Refer to the appropriate EV kit data sheet for quick start and detailed operating instructions. The USB2PMB1# has been tested on Windows® 7, Windows 8, and Windows XP®.ApplicationsIndustrial AutomationIndustrial SensorsMedicalPLCsProcess Control

MAX22190ATJ+T

Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX22190 is an IEC 61131-2 compliant industrial digital input device. The MAX22190 translates eight, 24V current-sinking, industrial inputs to a serialized SPI-compatible output that interfaces with 3V to 5.5V logic. A current setting resistor allows the MAX22190 to be configured for Type 1, Type 2, or Type 3 inputs. Field wiring is verified for proximity switches, by a second threshold detector on each input. When wire-break is enabled, the active-low FAULT output is asserted and a registerflag is set if the input current drops below the wire-break threshold for more than 20ms. Additional diagnostics thatassert the active-ow FAULT pin include: overtemperature, low 24V field supply, 24V field supply missing, CRC communication error, etc.For robust operation in industrial environments, each input includes a programmable glitch filter. The filter delay on each channel can be independently programmed to one of eight values between 50μs and 20ms, or filter bypass. The MAX22190 has a 4-pin SPI interface and in addition uses the active-low LATCH input for synchronizing input data across multiple devices in parallel.MAX22190 field-side accepts a single 7V to 65V supply to VDD24 pin. When powered by the field supply, MAX22190 generates a 3.3V output from an integrated LDO regulator, which can provide up to 25mA of current for external loads in addition to powering the MAX22190. Alternatively, MAX22190 can be powered from a 3.0V to 5.5V logic side supply connected to VDD pin. For flexibility, the SPI interface operates at 3.3V or 5V logic levels as controlled by the VL pin.
