The AD8400 / AD8402 / AD8403 provide a single, dual or quad channel, 256 position digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. The AD8400 contains a single variable resistor in the compact SO-8 package. The AD8402 contains two independent variable resistors in saving SO-14 surface mount package. The AD8403 contains four independent variable resistors in 24-lead PDIP, SOIC and TSSOP packages. Each part contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the controlling serial input register. The resistance between the wiper and either endpoint of the fixed resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. Each variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A to B terminal resistance of 1 kOhm, 10 kOhm, 50 kOhm or 100 kOhm has a ±1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance with a nominal temperature coefficient of 500 ppm/°C. A unique switching circuit minimizes the high glitch inherent in traditional switched resistor designs avoiding any make-before-break or break-before-make operation. Each VR has its own VR latch that holds its programmed resistance value. These VR latches are updated from an SPI compatible serial-to-parallel shift register that is loaded from a standard 3-wire serial-input digital interface. Ten data bits make up the data word clocked into the serial input register. The data word is decoded where the first two bits determine the address of the VR latch to be loaded, the last eight bits are data. A serial data output pin at the opposite end of the serial register allows simple daisy-chaining in multiple VR applications without additional external decoding logic.APPLICATIONS Mechanical potentiometer replacement Programmable filters, delays, time constants Volume control, panning Line impedance matching Power supply adjustment

AD736JRZ-R7
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD736 is a low power, precision, monolithic true rms-to-dc converter. It is laser trimmed to provide a maximum error of ±0.3 mV ± 0.3% of reading with sine wave inputs. Furthermore, it maintains high accuracy while measuring a wide range of input waveforms, including variable duty-cycle pulses and triac (phase)-controlled sine waves. The low cost and small size of this converter make it suitable for upgrading the performance of non-rms precision rectifiers in many applications. Compared to these circuits, the AD736 offers higher accuracy at an equal or lower cost. The AD736 can compute the rms value of both ac and dc input voltages. It can also be operated as an ac-coupled device by adding one external capacitor. In this mode, the AD736 can resolve input signal levels of 100 μV rms or less, despite variations in temperature or supply voltage. High accuracy is also maintained for input waveforms with crest factors of 1 to 3. In addition, crest factors as high as 5 can be measured (introducing only 2.5% additional error) at the 200 mV full-scale input level. The AD736 has its own output buffer amplifier, thereby pro-viding a great deal of design flexibility. Requiring only 200 μA of power supply current, the AD736 is optimized for use in portable multimeters and other battery-powered applications. The AD736 allows the choice of two signal input terminals: a high impedance FET input (1012 Ω) that directly interfaces with High-Z input attenuators and a low impedance input (8 kΩ) that allows the measurement of 300 mV input levels while operating from the minimum power supply voltage of +2.8 V, −3.2 V. The two inputs can be used either single ended or differentially. The AD736 has a 1% reading error bandwidth that exceeds 10 kHz for the input amplitudes from 20 mV rms to 200 mV rms while consuming only 1 mW.The AD736 is available in four performance grades. The AD736J and AD736K grades are rated over the 0°C to +70°C and −20°C to +85°C commercial temperature ranges. The AD736A and AD736B grades are rated over the −40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range. The AD736 is available in three low cost, 8-lead packages: PDIP, SOIC, and CERDIP.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS The AD736 is capable of computing the average rectified value, absolute value, or true rms value of various input signals. Only one external component, an averaging capacitor, is required for the AD736 to perform true rms measurement. The low power consumption of 1 mW makes the AD736 suitable for many battery-powered applications. A high input impedance of 1012 Ω eliminates the need for an external buffer when interfacing with input attenuators. A low impedance input is available for those applications that require an input signal up to 300 mV rms operating from low power supply voltages.

ADAU1442YSVZ-3A
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADAU1442 / ADAU1445 / ADAU1446 are enhanced audio processors that allow full flexibility in routing all input and output signals. The SigmaDSP® core features full 28-bit processing (56-bit in double-precision mode), synchronous parameter loading for ensuring filter stability, and 100% code efficiency with the SigmaStudio™ tools. This DSP allows system designers to compensate for the real-world limitations of speakers, amplifiers, and listening environments, resulting in a dramatic improvement of the perceived audio quality through speaker equalization, multiband compression, limiting, and third-party branded algorithms. The flexible audio routing matrix (FARM) allows the user to multiplex inputs from multiple sources running at various sample rates to or from the SigmaDSP core. This drastically reduces the complexity of signal routing and clocking issues in the audio system. FARM includes up to eight stereo asynchronous sample rate converters (depending on the device model), Sony/ Philips Digital Interconnect Format (S/PDIF) input and output, and serial (I2S) and time division multiplexing (TDM) I/Os. Any of these inputs can be routed to the SigmaDSP core or to any of the asynchronous sample rate converters (ASRCs). Similarly, any one of the output signals can be taken from the SigmaDSP core or from any of the ASRC outputs. This routing scheme, which can be modified at any time via control registers, allows for maximum system flexibility. The ADAU1442, ADAU1445, and ADAU1446 differ only in ASRC functionality and packaging. The ADAU1442 / ADAU1445 contain 16 channels of ASRCs and are packaged in TQFP packages, whereas the ADAU1446 contains no ASRCs and is packaged in an LQFP. The ADAU1442 can handle nine clock domains, the ADAU1445 can handle three clock domains, and the ADAU1446 can handle one clock domain. The ADAU1442 / ADAU1445 / ADAU1446 can be controlled in one of two operational modes: the settings of the chip can be loaded and dynamically updated through the SPI/I2C® port, or the DSP can self-boot from an external EEPROM in a system with no microcontroller. There is also a bank of multipurpose (MP) pins that can be used as general-purpose digital I/Os or as inputs to the 4-channel auxiliary control ADC.The ADAU1442 / ADAU1445 / ADAU1446 are supported by the SigmaStudio graphical development environment. This software includes audio processing blocks such as FIR and IIR filters, dynamics processors, mixers, low level DSP functions, and third-party algorithms for fast development of custom signal flows.APPLICATIONS Automotive audio processing Head units Navigation systems Rear-seat entertainment systems DSP amplifiers (sound system amplifiers) Commercial audio processing

ADV3200ASWZ
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADV3200/ADV3201 are 32 × 32 analog crosspoint switch matrices. They feature a selectable sync-tip clamp input forac-coupled applications and an on-screen display (OSD) insertion mux. With −48 dB of crosstalk and −80 dB isolationat 5 MHz, the ADV3200/ADV3201 are useful in many high density routing applications. The 0.1 dB flatness out to 60 MHz makes the ADV3200/ADV3201 ideal for composite video switching. The 32 independent output buffers of the ADV3200/ADV3201 can be placed into a high impedance state for paralleling crosspoint outputs so that off-channels present minimal loading to an output bus if building a larger array. The part is available in gain of +1 (ADV3200) or +2 (ADV3201) for ease of use in back-terminated load applications. A single 5 V supply, dual ±2.5 V supplies, or dual ±3.3 V supplies (G = +2) can be used while consuming only 250 mA of idle current with all outputs enabled. The channel switching is performed via a double buffered, serial digital control, which can accommodate daisy chaining of several devices. The ADV3200/ADV3201 are packaged in a 176-lead exposed pad LQFP (24 mm × 24 mm) and are available over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.Applications CCTV surveillance Routing of high speed signals including Composite video (NTSC, PAL, S, SECAM) RGB and component video routing Compressed video (MPEG, Wavelet) Video conferencing

AD5231BRUZ10
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5231 is a nonvolatile memory, digitally controlled potentiometer with 1024-step resolution. The device performs the same electronic adjustment function as a mechanical potentiometer with enhanced resolution, solid state reliability, and remote controllability. The AD5231 has versatile programming that uses a standard 3-wire serial interface for 16 modes of operation and adjustment, including scratchpad programming, memory storing and restoring, increment/decrement, ±6 dB/step log taper adjustment, wiper setting readback, and extra EEMEM for user-defined information, such as memory data for other components, look-up table, or system identification information. In scratchpad programming mode, a specific setting can be programmed directly to the RDAC register that sets the resistance between Terminals W–A and Terminals W–B. This setting can be stored into the EEMEM and is transferred automatically to the RDAC register during system power-on.The EEMEM content can be restored dynamically or through external PR strobing, and a WP function protects EEMEM contents. To simplify the programming, the linear-step increment or decrement commands can be used to move the RDAC wiper up or down, one step at a time. The ±6 dB step commands can be used to double or half the RDAC wiper setting. The AD5231 is available in a 16-lead TSSOP. The part is guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C.APPLICATIONS Mechanical potentiometer replacement Instrumentation: gain, offset adjustment Programmable voltage to current conversion Programmable filters, delays, time constants Programmable power supply Low resolution DAC replacement Sensor calibration
