The Blackfin® Processor family has been expanded to address the ever-increasing need for pervasive embedded network connectivity with two new family members. This connectivity is powerful when utilized in conjunction with the high performance 16-/32-bit Blackfin embedded processor core, the flexible cache architecture, the enhanced DMA subsystem, and the Dynamic Power Management (DPM) functionality. The AD5227 is Analog Devices’ latest 64-step up/down control digital potentiometer. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as a 5 V potentiometer or variable resistor. Its simple 3-wire up/down interface allows manual switching or high speed digital control. The AD5227 presets to midscale at power-up. When CS is enabled, the devices changes step at every clock pulse. The direction is determined by the state of the U/D pin (see ). The interface is simple to activate by any host controller, discrete logic, or manually with a rotary encoder or pushbuttons. The AD5227’s 64-step resolution, small footprint, and simple interface enable it to replace mechanical potentiometers and trimmers with typically 6× improved resolution, solid-state reliability, and design layout flexibility, resulting in a considerable cost savings in end users’ systems.The AD5227 is available in a compact thin SOT-23-8 (TSOT-8) Pb-free package. The ADuM5210 / ADuM5211 / ADuM5212 are dual-channel digitalisolators with isoPower®, an integrated, isolated dc-to-dc converter. Based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology, the dc-to-dc converter provides regulated, isolated power that is adjustablebetween 3.135 V and 5.25 V. Input supply voltages can range from slightly below the required output to significantly higher. The ADuM7223 is a 4A isolated, half-bridge gate driver that employ Analog Devices, Inc.’s iCoupler® technology to provide independent and isolated high-side and low-side outputs. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to alternatives such as the combination of pulse transformers and non-isolated gate drivers. By integrating the isolator and driver in a single package, propagation delay is a maximum of only 60 ns and the propagation skew from channel to channel is a maximum of only 7ns.The ADuM7223 provides two independent isolation channels.The ADuM7223 operates with an input supply ranging from 3.0 V to 5.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems. The outputs operate in a wide range from 4.5V to 18V with three output voltage versions available. The ADuM7640 / ADuM7641 / ADuM7642 / ADuM7643 are 6-channel digital isolators based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. These 1 kV digital isolation devices are packaged in a small 20-lead QSOP. They offer space savings and a lower price than 2.5 kV or 5 kV isolation solutions when only functional isolation is needed.This family, like many Analog Devices isolators, offers very low power consumption, using one-tenth to one-sixth the power of other digital isolators, with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 3.0 V to 5.5 V. Despite their low power consumption, the ADuM7640 / ADuM7641 / ADuM7642 / ADuM7643 provide low pulse width distortion (< 6 ns for C grade) and a channel-by-channel glitch filter to protect the device against extraneous noise disturbances. The AD7891 is an 8-channel, 12-bit data acquisition system with a choice of either parallel or serial interface structure. The part contains an input multiplexer, an on-chip track/hold amplifier, a high speed 12-bit ADC, a 2.5 V reference, and a high speed interface. The part operates from a single 5 V supply and accepts a variety of analog input ranges across two models, the AD7891-1 (±5 V and ±10 V) and the AD7891-2 (0 V to +2.5 V, 0 V to +5 V, and ±2.5 V).The AD7891 provides the option of either a parallel or serial interface structure determined by the MODE pin. The part has standard control inputs and fast data access times for both the serial and parallel interfaces, ensuring easy interfacing to modern microprocessors, microcontrollers, and digital signal processors.In addition to the traditional dc accuracy specifications, such as linearity, full-scale and offset errors, the part is also specified for dynamic performance parameters, including harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratio.Power dissipation in normal mode is 82 mW typical; in the standby mode, this is reduced to 75 mW typ. The part is available in a 44-terminal MQFP and a 44-lead PLCC.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS The AD7891 is a complete monolithic 12-bit data acquisition system that combines an 8-channel multiplexer, 12-bit ADC, 2.5 V reference, and track/hold amplifier on a single chip. The AD7891-2 features a conversion time of 1.6 ms and an acquisition time of 0.4 ms. This allows a sample rate of 500 kSPS when sampling one channel and 62.5 kSPS when channel hopping. These sample rates can be achieved using either a software or hardware convert start. The AD7891-1 has an acquisition time of 0.6 ms when using a hardware convert start and an acquisition time of 0.7 ms when using a software convert start. These acquisition times allow sample rates of 454.5 kSPS and 435 kSPS, respectively, for hardware and software convert start. Each channel on the AD7891 has overvoltage protection. This means an overvoltage on an unselected channel does not affect the conversion on a selected channel. The ADA4432-1 is a single-ended output fully integrated video reconstruction filter that combines overvoltage protection (short-to-battery [STB] protection) and short-to-ground (STG) protection on the outputs, with excellent video specifications and low power consumption. The AD5560 is a high performance, highly integrated device power supply consisting of programmable force voltages and measure ranges. This part includes the required DAC levels to set the programmable inputs for the drive amplifier, as well as clamping and comparator circuitry. Offset and gain correction is included on-chip for DAC functions. A number of programmable measure current ranges are available: five internal fixed ranges and two external customer-selectable ranges (EXTFORCE1 and EXTFORCE2) that can supply currents up to ±1.2 A and ±500 mA, respectively. The voltage range possible at this high current level is limited by headroom and the maximum power dissipation. Current ranges in excess of ±1.2 A or at high current and high voltage combinations can be achieved by paralleling or ganging multiple DPS devices.
