Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX17005B/MAX17006B/MAX17015B are high-frequency multichemistry battery chargers. These circuits feature a new high-frequency current-mode architecture that significantly reduces component size and cost. The charger uses a high-side MOSFET with n-channel synchronous rectifier. Widely adjustable charge current, charge voltage, and input current limit simplify the construction of highly accurate and efficient chargers. The charge voltage and charge current are set with analog control inputs. The charge current setting can also be adjusted with a PWM input. High-accuracy current-sense amplifiers provide fast cycle-by-cycle current-mode control to protect against short circuits to the battery and respond quickly to system load transients. In addition, the charger provides a high-accuracy analog output that is proportional to the adapter current. In the MAX17015B, this current monitor remains active when the adapter is absent to monitor battery discharge current. The MAX17005B charges three or four Li+ series cells, and the MAX17006B charges two or three Li+ series cells. The MAX17015B adjusts the charge voltage setting and the number of cells through a feedback resistor-divider from the output. All variants of the charger can provide at least 4A of charge current with a 10mΩ sense resistor. The charger utilizes a charge pump to control an n-channel adapter selection switch. The charge pump remains active even when the charger is off. When the adapter is absent, a p-channel MOSFET selects the battery. The MAX17005B/MAX17006B/MAX17015B are available in a small, 4mm x 4mm x 0.8mm 20-pin, lead-free TQFN package. An evaluation kit is available to reduce design time.ApplicationsNotebook ComputersPortable Equipment with Rechargeable BatteriesTablet PCs

LTC3625EDE-1#TRPBF
Analog Devices Inc.
The LTC3625/LTC3625-1 are programmable supercapacitor chargers designed to charge two supercapacitors in series to a fixed output voltage (4.8V/5.3V or 4V/4.5V selectable) from a 2.7V to 5.5V input supply. Automatic cell balancing prevents overvoltage damage to either supercapacitor while maximizing charge rate. No balancing resistors are required.High efficiency, high charging current, low quiescent current and low minimum external parts count (one inductor, one bypass capacitor at VIN and one programming resistor) make the LTC3625/LTC3625-1 ideally suited for small form factor backup or high peak power systems.Charging current/maximum input current level is programmed with an external resistor. When the input supply is removed and/or the EN pin is low, the LTC3625/LTC3625-1 automatically enter a low current state, drawing less than 1μA from the supercapacitors. The LTC3625/LTC3625-1 are available in a compact 12‑lead 3mm × 4mm × 0.75mm DFN package.Applications Servers, RAID Systems, Mass Storage, High Current Backup Supplies Solid State Hard Drives Wireless Power Meters High Peak Power Boosted Supplies

The LTC3677-3 is a highly integrated power management IC for single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer battery applications. It includes a PowerPath manager with automatic load prioritization, a battery charger, an ideal diode, input overvoltage protection and numerous other internal protection features. The LTC3677-3 is designed to accurately charge from current limited supplies such as USB by automatically reducing charge current such that the sum of the load current and the charge current does not exceed the programmed input current limit (100mA or 500mA modes). The LTC3677-3 reduces the battery voltage at elevated temperatures to improve safety and reliability. The three step-down switching regulators and two LDOs provide a wide range of available supplies. The LTC3677-3 also includes a pushbutton input to control power sequencing and system reset. The LTC3677-3 has pushbutton timing and sequencing designed to support the SiRF Atlas IV processor. The LTC3677-3 is available in a low profile 4mm × 7mm × 0.75mm 44-pin QFN package.Applications PNDs, DMB/DVB-H, Digital/Satellite Radio, Media Players Portable Industrial/Medical Products Other USB-Based Handheld Products

MAX77751BEFG+
Analog Devices Inc.
The MAX77751 is a standalone, 3.15A charger with integrated USB Type-C® CC detection and reverse boost capability. The fast-charge current and top-off current thresholds are easily configured with resistors. The MAX77751 operates with an input voltage of 4.5V to 13.7V and has a maximum input current limit of 3A. The IC also implements the adaptive input current limit (AICL) function that regulates the input voltage by reducing input current, to prevent the voltage of a weak adapter from collapsing or folding back. The USB Type-C Configuration Channel (CC) detection pins on the MAX77751 enable automatic USB Type-C power source detection and input current limit configuration. To support a variety of legacy USB as well as proprietary adapters, the IC also integrates BC1.2 detection using the D+ and D- pins. The IC runs the CC detection and BC1.2 detection automatically without any software as soon as the USB plug is inserted. The IC also offers Reverse-Boost capability up to 5.1V, 1.5A, which can be enabled with the ENBST pin. The STAT pin indicates charging status, while the INOKB pin indicates valid input voltage. Charging can be stopped by pulling the ITOPOFF pin low.The MAX77751 is equipped with a Smart Power Selector™ and a battery true-disconnect FET to control the charging and discharging of the battery or isolate the battery in case of a fault. The MAX77751 is offered in several variants to support Li-ion batteries with various termination voltages from 4.1V to 4.5V. The IC comes in a 3mm x 3mm, 0.4mm pitch 24-lead FC2QFN package making it suitable for low-cost PCB assembly.ApplicationsMobile Point-of-Sale (mPOS) TerminalsPortable Medical DevicesWireless HeadphonesGPS TrackersCharging Cradles for Wearable DevicesPower BanksMobile Routers
