The LTC4076 is a standalone linear charger that is capable of charging a single-cell Li-Ion battery from both wall adapter and USB inputs. The charger can detect power at the inputs and automatically select the appropriate power source for charging.No external sense resistor or blocking diode is required for charging due to the internal MOSFET architecture. Internal thermal feedback regulates the battery charge current to maintain a constant die temperature during high power operation or high ambient temperature conditions. The float voltage is fixed at 4.2V and the charge current is programmed with an external resistor. The LTC4076 terminates the charge cycle when the charge current drops below the user programmed termination threshold after the final float voltage is reached. The LTC4076 can be put into shutdown mode reducing the DCIN supply current to 20µA, the USBIN supply current to 10µA, and the battery drain current to less than 2µA even with power applied to both inputs.Other features include automatic recharge, undervoltage lockout, charge status output, power present status output to indicate the presence of wall adapter or USB power and high power/low power mode (C/5) for USB compatible applications.Applications Cellular Telephones Handheld Computers Portable MP3 Players Digital Cameras

The MAX17015B adjusts the charge voltage setting and the number of cells through a feedback resistor-divider from the output. All variants of the charger can provide at least 4A of charge current with a 10mΩ sense resistor.The charger utilizes a charge pump to control an n-channel adapter selection switch. The charge pump remains active even when the charger is off. The MAX8662/MAX8663 power-management ICs (PMICs) are efficient, compact devices suitable for smart cellular phones, PDAs, Internet appliances, and other portable devices. They integrate two synchronous buck regulators, a boost regulator driving two to seven white LEDs, four low-dropout linear regulators (LDOs), and a linear charger for a single-cell Li-ion (Li+) battery.Maxim's Smart Power Selector™ (SPS) safely distributes power between an external power source (AC adapter, auto adapter, or USB source), battery, and the system load. When system load peaks exceed the external source capability, the battery supplies supplemental current. When system load requirements are small, residual power from the external power source charges the battery. A thermal-limiting circuit limits battery-charge rate and external power-source current to prevent overheating.
