The LTC2927 provides a simple solution to power supply tracking and sequencing requirements. By selecting a few resistors, the supply can be configured to ramp-up and ramp-down with differing ramp rates, voltage offsets, or time delays relative to other supplies or a master signal.By forcing current into a feedback node of an independent supply, the LTC2927 causes the output to track a ramp signal without inserting any pass element losses. Because the current is controlled in an open-loop manner, the LTC2927 does not affect the transient response or stability of the supply. The compact solution at point of load minimizes the trace length of the DC/DC circuit sensitive FB node. The ADP3303 stands out from the conventional LDOs with a different architecture, an enhanced process, and adifferent package. This device is insensitive to capacitor Equivalent Series Resistance (ESR) and is stable with any good quality capacitor, including ceramic types (MLCC) forspace restricted applications. The LT3468/LT3468-1/LT3468-2 are highly integrated ICs designed to charge photoflash capacitors in digital and film cameras. A patented control technique* allows for the use of extremely small transformers. Each device contains an on-chip high voltage NPN power switch. Output voltage detection* is completely contained within the device, eliminating the need for any discrete zener diodes or resistors. The output voltage can be adjusted by simply changing the turns ratio of the transformer. The LT3468 has a primary current limit of 1.4A, the LT3468-2 has a 1A limit, and the LT3468-1 has a 0.7A limit. These different current limit levels result in well controlled input currents of 500mA for the LT3468, 375mA for the LT3468-2 and 225mA for the LT3468-1. Aside from the differing current limit, the three devices are otherwise equivalent.The CHARGE pin gives full control of the part to the user. Driving CHARGE low puts the part in shutdown. The DONE pin indicates when the part has completed charging. The ADM6711/ADM6713 are reset generator circuits suitable for use in microprocessor-based systems. They provide a reset signal on power-up, power-down, and whenever the supply voltage falls below a preset threshold. In addition, both parts have a debounced manual reset input so that a reset signal can also be initiated with an external switch or logic signal.With six different reset threshold options available ranging from 2.32 V to 4.63 V, the ADM6711/ADM6713 are suitable for monitoring 2.5 V, 3 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V supplies. A reset timeout of at least 140 ms occurs when VCC rises above the threshold. This gives the supply voltage time to stabilize before the microprocessor starts up.The ADM6711 has a push-pull output, so no additional external components are needed. The ADM6713 open-drain output requires an external pull-up resistor that can be connected to a voltage higher than VCC, if desired.The parts are highly reliable with accurate voltage references and immunity to fast, negative-going transients on VCC. The ADM823/ADM824/ADM825 are supervisory circuits that monitor power supply voltage levels and code execution integrity in microprocessor-based systems. In addition to providing power-on reset signals, an on-chip watchdog timer can reset the microprocessor if it fails to strobe within a preset timeout period. A reset signal can also be asserted by an external push-button, through a manual reset input. The three parts feature different combinations of watchdog input, manual reset input, and output stage configuration, as shown in Table 1.These parts are available in a choice of seven reset threshold options ranging from 2.19 V to 4.63 V. The ADM660 / ADM8660 is a charge-pump voltage converter that can be used to either invert the input supply voltage givingVOUT = -VIN or double it (ADM660 only) giving VOUT = 2 × VIN. Input voltages ranging from +1.5 V to +7 V can be inverted into a negative -1.5 V to -7 V output supply. This inverting scheme is ideal for generating a negative rail in single power supply systems. Only two small external capacitors are needed for the charge pump. Output currents up to 50 mA with greater than 90% efficiency are achievable, while 100 mA achieves greater than 80% efficiency.A Frequency Control (FC) input pin is used to select either25 kHz or 120 kHz charge-pump operation. This is used to optimize capacitor size and quiescent current. With 25 kHz selected, a 10 µF external capacitor is suitable, while with 120 kHz the capacitor may be reduced to 2.2 µF. The oscillator frequency on the ADM660 can also be controlled with an external capacitor connected to the OSC input or by driving this input with an external clock. In applications where a higher supply voltage is desired it is possible to use the ADM660 to doublethe input voltage. With input voltages from 2.5 V to 7 V, outputvoltages from 5 V to 14 V are achievable with up to 100 mA output current. The ADM8660 features a low power shutdown (SD) pin insteadof the external oscillator (OSC) pin. Using an advanced proprietary architecture, they provide high power supply rejection and achieve excellent line and load transient response with a small 4.7 μF ceramic output capacitor.The ADP1706/ADP1707 are available in 16 fixed output volt-age options. The ADP1708 is available in an adjustable version, which allows output voltages that range from 0.8 V to 5.0 V via an external divider. The ADP1706 allows an external soft start capacitor to be connected to program the start-up time; the ADP1707 and ADP1708 contain internal soft start capacitors that give a typical start-up time of 100 μs. The ADP1707 includes a tracking feature that allows the output to follow an external voltage rail or reference.The ADP1706/ADP1707/ADP1708 are available in an 8-lead, exposed paddle SOIC package and an 8-lead, 3 mm × 3 mm exposed paddle LFCSP, making them not only very compact solutions but also providing excellent thermal performance for applications requiring up to 1 A of output current in a small, low profile footprint.
