The LTC7124 is a dual channel, 3.5A per output, high efficiency monolithic step-down regulator capable of operating from input supplies up to 17V. The programmable switching frequency ranges from 500kHz to 4MHz with a ?25% external clock synchronization capability around the programmed frequency. The regulator features ultralow quiescent current for high efficiency over a wide VOUT range.The step-down regulator operates from an input voltage range of 3.1V to 17V and provides an adjustable output range from 0.6V to 99% of VIN while delivering up to 3.5A of output current per channel. A user selectable mode input is provided to allow the user to trade off output ripple for light load efficiency; Burst Mode? operation provides the highest efficiency at light loads, while forced continuous operation provides the lowest output ripple. The LTC7124 includes spread spectrum modulation for low radiated and conductive noise. Demonstration circuit DC2343A is a complete system level solution for a nanopower buck-boost DC/DC with integrated coulomb counter. The DC2343A contains a PIC16F1459 embedded processor for communication to the PC over USB and the LTC3335 via its I2C port. The GUI is capable of reading and writing all the control registers on the LTC3335 as well as displaying and resetting all its alarm registers. The firmware and software for the embedded system and the GUI are available at the LTC3335 solutions page. The DC2343A uses two analog-to-digital converter channels to sample the battery and output voltages. The voltage samples improve the functionality of the GUI, and allow optimal software correction to the measured coulombs. By adding the software correction the first order known errors are compensated for over the operating range and the resultant coulomb count is accurate to within 3%.

The LT1533 is a new class of switching regulator designed to reduce conducted and radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI). Ultralow noise and EMI are achieved by providing user control of the output switch slew rates. Voltage and current slew rates can be independently programmed to optimize switcher harmonic content versus efficiency. The LT1533 can reduce high frequency harmonic power by as much as 40dB with only minor losses in efficiency. The LT1533 utilizes a dual output switch current mode architecture optimized for low noise topologies. The IC includes two 1A power switches along with all necessary oscillator, control and protection circuitry. Unique error amp circuitry can regulate both positive and negative voltages. The internal oscillator may be synchronized to an external clock for more accurate placement of switching harmonics. Protection features include cycle by cycle current limit protection, undervoltage lockout and thermal shutdown. Low minimum supply voltage and low supply current during shutdown make the LT1533 well suited for portable applications. The part may also be forced into a 50% duty cycle mode for unregulated applications. The LT8610 is a compact, high efficiency, high speed synchronous monolithic step-down switching regulator that consumes only 2.5?A of quiescent current. Top and bottom power switches are included with all necessary circuitry to minimize the need for external components. Low ripple Burst Mode operation enables high efficiency down to very low output currents while keeping the output ripple below 10mVP-P. A SYNC pin allows synchronization to an external clock. Internal compensation with peak current mode topology allows the use of small inductors and results in fast transient response and good loop stability. The EN/UV pin has an accurate 1V threshold and can be used to program VIN undervoltage lockout or to shut down the LT8610 reducing the input supply current to 1?A. A capacitor on the TR/SS pin programs the output voltage ramp rate during start-up. The PG flag signals when VOUT is within ?9% of the programmed output voltage as well as fault conditions. The controllers use a constant frequency, current mode architecture that is supported by LTpowerPlay? software development tool with graphical user interface (GUI).Switching frequency, output voltage, and device address can be programmed using external configuration resistors. Parameters can be set via the digital interface or stored in EEPROM. Voltage, current, internal/external temperature and fault status can be read back through the bus interface. The input voltage is from 4.5V to 16V. The output voltage is jumper selectable from 1.0V to 2.5V. DC1780A-A can deliver nominal 50A output current with 2× LTM4620s in parallel. As explained in the data sheet, output current derating is necessary for certain VIN, VOUT, and thermal conditions.

Demonstration circuit 1787A is a wide input voltage range SEPIC converter featuring the LT3759 controller. It converts a 2.8V~36V input to a 12V output, with 1A load current capability for VIN ≥ 4V. The converter operates at a 300 kHz nominal switching frequency, with 91% peak efficiency. The DC1787A can be easily modified to generate other output voltages, and can also be optimized for efficiency and size with narrower input voltage ranges.
