The ADM705/ADM706/ADM707/ADM708 microprocessorsupervisory circuits are suitable for monitoring 5 V powersupplies/batteries and microprocessor activity.The ADM705/ADM706 provide power-supply monitoringcircuitry that generate a reset output during power-up, powerdown,and brownout conditions. The reset output remainsoperational with VCC as low as 1 V. Independent watchdogmonitoring circuitry is also provided. This is activated if thewatchdog input has not been toggled within 1.60 sec.In addition, there is a 1.25 V threshold detector to warn ofpower failures, to detect low battery conditions, or to monitor anadditional power supply. An active low, debounced manual resetinput (MR) is also included.The ADM705 and ADM706 are identical except for the resetthreshold monitor levels, which are 4.65 V and 4.40 V, respectively.The ADM707 and ADM708 provide a similar functionality tothe ADM705 and ADM706 and only differ in that a watchdogtimer function is not available. Instead, an active high resetoutput (RESET) is available as well as the active low reset output(RESET). The ADM823/ADM824/ADM825 are supervisory circuits that monitor power supply voltage levels and code execution integrity in microprocessor-based systems. In addition to providing power-on reset signals, an on-chip watchdog timer can reset the microprocessor if it fails to strobe within a preset timeout period. A reset signal can also be asserted by an external push-button, through a manual reset input. The three parts feature different combinations of watchdog input, manual reset input, and output stage configuration, as shown in Table 1.These parts are available in a choice of seven reset threshold options ranging from 2.19 V to 4.63 V. The ADM660 / ADM8660 is a charge-pump voltage converter that can be used to either invert the input supply voltage givingVOUT = -VIN or double it (ADM660 only) giving VOUT = 2 × VIN. Input voltages ranging from +1.5 V to +7 V can be inverted into a negative -1.5 V to -7 V output supply. This inverting scheme is ideal for generating a negative rail in single power supply systems. Only two small external capacitors are needed for the charge pump. Output currents up to 50 mA with greater than 90% efficiency are achievable, while 100 mA achieves greater than 80% efficiency.A Frequency Control (FC) input pin is used to select either25 kHz or 120 kHz charge-pump operation. This is used to optimize capacitor size and quiescent current. With 25 kHz selected, a 10 µF external capacitor is suitable, while with 120 kHz the capacitor may be reduced to 2.2 µF. The oscillator frequency on the ADM660 can also be controlled with an external capacitor connected to the OSC input or by driving this input with an external clock. In applications where a higher supply voltage is desired it is possible to use the ADM660 to doublethe input voltage. With input voltages from 2.5 V to 7 V, outputvoltages from 5 V to 14 V are achievable with up to 100 mA output current. The ADM8660 features a low power shutdown (SD) pin insteadof the external oscillator (OSC) pin. The SSM2305 is a fully integrated, high efficiency, Class-Daudio amplifier designed to maximize performance for mobilephone applications. The application circuit requires a minimumof external components and operates from a single 2.5 V to 5.5 Vsupply. It is capable of delivering 2.2 W of continuous outputpower with less than 1% THD + N driving a 4 Ω load from a5.0 V supply. It has built-in thermal shutdown and output short-circuitprotection.The SSM2305 features a high efficiency, low noise modulationscheme that does not require external LC output filters. The modulationprovides high efficiency even at low output power. TheSSM2305 operates with 90% efficiency at 1.3 W into 8 Ω or 83%efficiency at 2.2 W into 4 Ω from a 5.0 V supply and has an SNR of>98 dB. Spread-spectrum pulse density modulation is used toprovide lower EMI-radiated emissions compared with otherClass-D architectures.The SSM2305 has a micropower shutdown mode with a maximumshutdown current of 30 nA. Shutdown is enabled by applyinga Logic 0 to the SD pin. The device also includes pop-and-clicksuppression circuitry. This minimizes voltage glitches at theoutput during turn-on and turn-off, thus reducing audible noiseon activation and deactivation.The fully differential input of the SSM2305 provides excellentrejection of common-mode noise on the input. Input couplingcapacitors can be omitted if the dc input common-mode voltageis approximately VDD/2.The SSM2305 has excellent rejection of power supply noise,including noise caused by GSM transmission bursts and RFrectification. PSRR is typically 60 dB at 217 Hz.The default gain of the SSM2305 is 18 dB, but users can reduce thegain by using a pair of external resistors.The SSM2305 is specified over the commercial temperature range(−40°C to +85°C). It is available in both an 8-lead, 3 mm × 3 mmlead frame chip scale package (LFCSP) and an 8-lead mini smalloutline package (MSOP). The SSM2317 is a fully integrated, high efficiency, Class-D audioamplifier. It is designed to maximize performance for mobilephone applications. The application circuit requires a minimumof external components and operates from a single 2.5 V to 5.5 Vsupply. It is capable of delivering 3 W of continuous outputpower with 93 dB. Spread-spectrum pulse density modulation is used toprovide lower EMI radiated emissions compared with otherClass-D architectures.Automatic level control (ALC) can be activated to suppressclipping and improve dynamic range. This feature only requiresone external resistor tied to GND via the VTH pin and anactivation voltage on the ALC_EN pin.The SSM2317 has a micropower shutdown mode with a typicalshutdown current of 20 nA. Shutdown is enabled by applyinga logic low to the SD pin.The device also includes pop-and-click suppression circuitry. Thisminimizes voltage glitches at the output during turn-on and turn-off,reducing audible noise on activation and deactivation.The default gain of the SSM2317 is 18 dB, but users can reduce thegain by using a pair of external resistors.The SSM2317 is specified over the commercial temperature rangeof −40°C to +85°C. It has built-in thermal shutdown and outputshort-circuit protection.
