The ADM6711/ADM6713 are reset generator circuits suitable for use in microprocessor-based systems. They provide a reset signal on power-up, power-down, and whenever the supply voltage falls below a preset threshold. In addition, both parts have a debounced manual reset input so that a reset signal can also be initiated with an external switch or logic signal.With six different reset threshold options available ranging from 2.32 V to 4.63 V, the ADM6711/ADM6713 are suitable for monitoring 2.5 V, 3 V, 3.3 V, and 5 V supplies. A reset timeout of at least 140 ms occurs when VCC rises above the threshold. This gives the supply voltage time to stabilize before the microprocessor starts up.The ADM6711 has a push-pull output, so no additional external components are needed. The ADM6713 open-drain output requires an external pull-up resistor that can be connected to a voltage higher than VCC, if desired.The parts are highly reliable with accurate voltage references and immunity to fast, negative-going transients on VCC. The ADM660 / ADM8660 is a charge-pump voltage converter that can be used to either invert the input supply voltage givingVOUT = -VIN or double it (ADM660 only) giving VOUT = 2 × VIN. Input voltages ranging from +1.5 V to +7 V can be inverted into a negative -1.5 V to -7 V output supply. This inverting scheme is ideal for generating a negative rail in single power supply systems. Only two small external capacitors are needed for the charge pump. Output currents up to 50 mA with greater than 90% efficiency are achievable, while 100 mA achieves greater than 80% efficiency.A Frequency Control (FC) input pin is used to select either25 kHz or 120 kHz charge-pump operation. This is used to optimize capacitor size and quiescent current. With 25 kHz selected, a 10 µF external capacitor is suitable, while with 120 kHz the capacitor may be reduced to 2.2 µF. The oscillator frequency on the ADM660 can also be controlled with an external capacitor connected to the OSC input or by driving this input with an external clock. In applications where a higher supply voltage is desired it is possible to use the ADM660 to doublethe input voltage. With input voltages from 2.5 V to 7 V, outputvoltages from 5 V to 14 V are achievable with up to 100 mA output current. The ADM8660 features a low power shutdown (SD) pin insteadof the external oscillator (OSC) pin. Utilizing a novel scaling architecture, ground current drawn is a very low 40 μA, when driving a 100 μA load, making the ADP1710/ADP1711 ideal for battery-operated portable equipment.The ADP1710 and the ADP1711 are each available in sixteen fixed output voltage options. The ADP1710 is also available in an adjustable version, which allows output voltages that range from 0.8 V to 5 V via an external divider. The ADP1711 allows for a reference bypass capacitor to be connected, which reduces output voltage noise and improves power supply rejection. The ADP1710/ADP1711 are optimized for stable operation with small 1 μF ceramic output capacitors, allowing for good transient performance while occupying minimal board space. An enable pin controls the output voltage on both devices. There is also an under-voltage lockout circuit on both devices, which disables the regulator if IN drops below a minimum threshold. An internal soft start gives a typical start-up time of 80 μs. Short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection circuits prevent damage to the devices in adverse conditions.
