AD8214WYRMZ-R7
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8214 is a fast response, high common-mode voltage, current shunt comparator. The device operates on the high side rail of any DC current sensing application, provided the voltage is between 5 V and 65 V. Internally, the AD8214 features a fast comparator that is optimized for high side operation. An internal Zener regulator powers the circuit with respect to the high side DC rail. In addition, user access to this 2.4V regulator, allows for setting a comparator threshold voltage via external resistors. The AD8214 will compare the voltage across the shunt resistor to this user-selected threshold, and the AD8214 output will change states from low to high, indicating the current across the shunt has crossed the threshold level. The input to output response time of the AD8214 is typically less than 100 ns. This makes the device optimal for overcurrent protection in applications such as motor and solenoid control. Built-in comparator hysteresis means that once the current across the shunt falls back to a normal limit, the AD8214 output will change states to its original level. The AD8214 is available in an 8-lead MSOP package. The operating temperature range is −40°C to +125°C, and the device is fully qualified for automotive applications.ApplicationsOvercurrent protection Motor controls Transmission controls Diesel injection controls DC-to-DC converters Power supplies Batteries

The AD8220 is the first single-supply, JFET input instrumentation amplifier available in an MSOP package. Designed to meet the needs of high performance, portable instrumentation, the AD8220 has a minimum common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) of 86 dB at dc and a minimum CMRR of 80 dB at 5 kHz for G = 1. Maximum input bias current is 10 pA and typically remains below 300 pA over the entire industrial temperature range. Despite the JFET inputs, the AD8220 typically has a noise corner of only 10 Hz.With the proliferation of mixed-signal processing, the number of power supplies required in each system has grown. The AD8220 is designed to alleviate this problem. The AD8220 can operate on a ±18 V dual supply, as well as on a single +5 V supply. Its rail-to-rail output stage maximizes dynamic range on the low voltage supplies common in portable applications. Its ability to run on a single 5 V supply eliminates the need to use higher voltage, dual supplies. The AD8220 draws a maximum of 750 μA of quiescent current, making it ideal for battery powered devices.Gain is set from 1 to 1000 with a single resistor. Increasing the gain increases the common-mode rejection. Measurements that need higher CMRR when reading small signals benefit when the AD8220 is set for large gains.A reference pin allows the user to offset the output voltage. This feature is useful when interfacing with analog-to-digital converters. The AD8220 is available in an MSOP that takes roughly half the board area of an SOIC. Performance for the A and B grade is specified over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C, and the W grade is specified over the automotive temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.Applications Medical instrumentation Precision data acquisition Transducer interfaces

Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8251 is an instrumentation amplifier with digitally programmable gains that has GΩ input impedance, low output noise, and low distortion, making it suitable for interfacing with sensors and driving high sample rate analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). It has high bandwidth of 10 MHz, low THD of −110 dB, and fast settling time of 785 ns (maximum) to 0.001%. Offset drift and gain drift are guaranteed to 1.8 μV/°C and 10 ppm/°C, respectively, for G = 8. In addition to its wide input common voltage range, it boasts a high common-mode rejection of 80 dB at G = 1 from dc to 50 kHz. The combination of precision dc performance coupled with high speed capabilities makes the AD8251 an excellent candidate for data acquisition. Furthermore, this monolithic solution simplifies design and manufacturing and boosts performance of instrumentation by maintaining a tight match of internal resistors and amplifiers. The AD8251 user interface consists of a parallel port that allows users to set the gain in one of two different ways (see Figure 1 in data sheet for the functional block diagram). A 2-bit word sent via a bus can be latched using the WR input. An alternative is to use transparent gain mode where the state of logic levels at the gain port determines the gain. The AD8251 is available in a 10-lead MSOP package and is specified over the −40°C to +85°C temperature range, making it an excellent solution for applications where size and packing density are important considerations. AD8318SCPZ-EP-RL7
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD8318 is a demodulating logarithmic amplifier, capable of accurately converting an RF input signal to a corresponding decibel-scaled output voltage. It employs the progressive compression technique over a cascaded amplifier chain, each stage of which is equipped with a detector cell. The device is used in measurement or controller mode. The AD8318 maintains accurate log conformance for signals of 1 MHz to 6 GHz and provides useful operation to 8 GHz. The input range is typically 60 dB (re: 50 Ω) with error less than ±1 dB. The AD8318 has a 10 ns response time that enables RF burst detection to beyond 45 MHz. The device provides unprecedented logarithmic intercept stability vs. ambient temperature conditions. A 2 mV/°C slope temperature sensor output is also provided for additional system monitoring. A single supply of 5 V is required. Current consumption is typically 68 mA. Power consumption decreases to <1.5 mW when the device is disabled. The AD8318 can be configured to provide a control voltage to a VGA, such as a power amplifier or a measurement output, from Pin VOUT. Because the output can be used for controller applications, wideband noise is minimal. In this mode, the setpoint control voltage is applied to VSET. The feedback loop through an RF amplifier is closed via VOUT, the output of which regulates the amplifier output to a magnitude corresponding to VSET. The AD8318 provides 0 V to 4.9 V output capability at the VOUT pin, suitable for controller applications. As a measurement device, Pin VOUT is externally connected to VSET to produce an output voltage, VOUT, which is a decreasing linear-in-dB function of the RF input signal amplitude. The logarithmic slope is nominally −25 mV/dB but can be adjusted by scaling the feedback voltage from VOUT to the VSET interface. The intercept is 20 dBm (re: 50 Ω, CW input) using the INHI input. These parameters are very stable against supply and temperature variations. The AD8318 is fabricated on a SiGe bipolar IC process and is available in a 4 mm × 4 mm, 16-lead LFCSP for the operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.Applications RF transmitter PA setpoint control and level monitoring RSSI measurement in base stations, WLAN, WiMAX, and radars
