The AD7280A contains all the functions required for general-purpose monitoring of stacked lithium ion batteries as used in hybrid electric vehicles, battery backup applications, and power tools. The part has multiplexed cell voltage and auxiliary ADC measurement channels for up to six cells of battery management. An internal ?3 ppm reference is provided that allows a cell voltage accuracy of ?1.6 mV. The ADC resolution is 12 bits and allows conversion of up to 48 cells within 7 ?s.The AD7280A operates from just one VDD supply that has a range of 8 V to 30 V (with an absolute maximum rating of 33 V). The part provides six differential analog input channels to accommodate large common-mode signals across the full VDD range. Each channel allows an input signal range, VIN(+) ? VIN(?), of 1 V to 5 V. The input pins assume a series stack of six cells. In addition, the part includes six auxiliary ADC input channels that can be used for temperature measurement or system diagnostics.The AD7280A includes on-chip registers that allow a sequence of channel measurements to be programmed to suit the applications requirements.The AD7280A also includes a dynamic alert function that can detect if the cell voltages or auxiliary ADC inputs exceed an upper or lower limit defined by the user. The HMC478 devices are SiGe, heterojunction bipolar transistor (HBT), gain block MMIC, SMT amplifiers covering dc to 4 GHz. These amplifiers can be used as cascadable 50 Ω RF/IF gain stages as well as LO or PA drivers with up to 17 dBm or 20 dBm output power. These amplifiers offer 22 dB or 23 dB of gain with 31 dBm, 32 dBm, or 33 dBm output IP3 at 850 MHz, while requiring only 62 mA from a single positive supply. The Analog Devices, Inc., amplifier mezzanine card (AMC) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) driver evaluates the performance of amplifiers in 8-lead, single and dual SOIC, 6-lead single SOT23, 8-lead dual MSOP, and 16-lead LFCSP
packages. This add on board can be inserted on ADC evaluation boards using its 7-pin header. Figure 1 shows the AMC mounted on an Analog Devices, Inc., ADC evaluation board.
The AMC can support any of Analog Devices operational amplifiers and ADC drivers in different packages. The user can configure the ADC driver as a Sallen-Key low-pass, high-pass, or band-pass filter, as a multiple feedback low-pass, high-pass, or band-pass filter, or as an inverting and noninverting operational amplifier. The user can also configure the AMC to drive a single-ended, fully differential, or a single-ended signal to a differential ADC.
Optimized power and ground planes ensure low noise and high speed operation. Component placement and power supply bypassing are optimized for maximum circuit flexibility and performance. The AMC evaluation board accepts 0402 or 0603 surface mount technology (SMT) components, 1206 bypass capacitors, and 2.54 mm headers.
All components are placed on the primary side. No components are placed on the secondary side.

The ADF7020-1 is a low power, highly integrated FSK/ GFSK/ ASK/ OOK/ GOOK transceiver designed for operation in thelow UHF and VHF bands. The ADF7020-1 uses an externalVCO inductor that allows users to set the operating frequencyanywhere between 135 MHz and 650 MHz. Using the divide-by-2circuit allows users to operate the device as low as 80 MHz.The typical range of the VCO is about 10% of the operatingfrequency. A complete transceiver can be built using a smallnumber of external discrete components, making the ADF7020-1 very suitable for price-sensitive and area-sensitiveapplications.The transmit section contains a VCO and low noisefractional-N PLL with output resolution of <1 ppm. Thisfrequency agile PLL allows the ADF7020-1 to be used infrequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) systems. The VCOoperates at twice the fundamental frequency to reduce spuriousemissions and frequency pulling problems.The transmitter output power is programmable in 63 steps from?20 dBm to +13 dBm. The transceiver RF frequency, channelspacing, and modulation are programmable using a simple 3-wire interface. The device operates with a power supply range of2.3 V to 3.6 V and can be powered down when not in useA low IF architecture is used in the receiver (200 kHz),minimizing power consumption and the external componentcount and avoiding interference problems at low frequencies.The ADF7020-1 supports a wide variety of programmablefeatures, including Rx linearity, sensitivity, and IF bandwidth,allowing the user to trade off receiver sensitivity and selectivityfor current consumption, depending on the application. The AD7865 is a fast, low power, four-channel simultaneous sampling 14-bit A/D converter that operates from a single +5 V supply. The part contains a 2.5 µs successive approximation ADC, four track/hold amplifiers, 2.5 V reference, on chip clock oscillator, signal conditioning circuitry and a high speed parallel interface. The input signals on four channels are sampled simultaneously thus preserving the relative phase information of the signals on the four analog inputs. The part accepts analog input ranges of ±10 V, ±5 V or ±2.5 V. Overvoltage protection on the analog inputs for the part allows the input voltage to go to ±20 V without damaging the parts or affecting a conversion in progress.
