The ADM1192 is an integrated current sense amplifier that offers digital current and voltage monitoring via an on-chip, 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), communicated through an I2C interface.An internal current sense amplifier senses voltage across the sense resistor in the power path via the VCC pin and the SENSE pin.A 12-bit ADC can measure the current seen in the sense resistor and in the supply voltage on the VCC pin. An industry-standard I2C interface allows a controller to read current and voltage data from the ADC. Measurements can be initiated by an I2C command. Alternatively, the ADC can run continuously, and the user can read the latest conversion data whenever it is required. Up to four unique I2C addresses can be created, depending on the way the ADR pin is connected.A SETV pin is also included. A voltage applied to this pin is internally compared to the output voltage on the current sense amplifier. The output of the SETV comparator asserts when the current sense amplifier output exceeds the SETV voltage. This event is detected at the ALERT block. The ALERT block then charges up the external TIMER capacitor with a fixed current. When this timing cycle is complete, the ALERT output asserts.The ALERT output can be used as a flag to warn a micro-controller or field programmable gate array (FPGA) of an overcurrent condition. ALERT outputs of multiple ADM1192 devices can be tied together and used as a combined alert.A basic P-channel FET hot swap circuit can be implemented with the ALERT output. The AD7684 is a 16-bit, charge redistribution, successive approximation, PulSAR? analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that operates from a single power supply, VDD, between 2.7 V to 5.5 V. It contains a low power, high speed, 16-bit sampling ADC with no missing codes, an internal conversion clock, and a serial, SPI-compatible interface port. The part also contains a low noise, wide bandwidth, short aperture delay, track-and-hold circuit. On the?CS falling edge, it samples the voltage difference between +IN and ?IN pins. The reference voltage, REF, is applied externally and can be set up to the supply voltage. The constant frequency current mode architecture allows a phaselockable frequency of up to 600kHz, while an input/output constant current loop provides support for battery charging.?With a wide 4.5V to 150V input and output range and seamless transfers between operating regions, the LTC3779 is ideal for automotive, telecom and batterypowered systems.?The LTC3779 features a precision 1.2V reference and power good output indicator. The MODE pin can select between pulse-skipping mode or forced continuous mode of operation. Pulse-skipping mode offers high efficiency at light load while forced continuous mode operates at a constant frequency for noise sensitive applications. The PLLIN pin allows the IC to be synchronized to an external clock. The SS pin ramps the output voltage during start-up. The AD8450 is a precision analog front end for testing andmonitoring battery cells. Referring to figure one, a precisionprogrammable gain instrumentation amplifier (PGIA)measures the battery’s charge/discharge current and aprogrammable gain difference amplifier (PGDA) measures thebattery’s voltage. Internal laser trimmed resistor networks setthe gains for the PGIA and the PGDA, optimizing the AD8450’sperformance over the rated temperature range. PGIA gains are26×, 66×, 133×, and 200×. PGDA gains are 0.2×, 0.27×,0.4×,and 0.8×.Voltages at the ISET and VSET inputs set the desired constantvoltage (CV) and constant current (CC) values. CC to CVswitching is automatic and transparent to the system.A TTL level logic input, MODE, selects between charge anddischarge modes (high for charge, low for discharge). An analogoutput, VCTRL, interfaces directly with ADI’s ADP1972 &ADP1974 PWM controllers.The AD8450 includes resistor programmable overvoltage andovercurrent detection and current sharing circuitry. The ADBMS18181 is a multicell battery stack monitor that measures up to 18 series connected battery cells with a total measurement error of less than 3.0 mV. The cell measurement range of 0 V to 5 V makes the ADBMS1818 suitable for most battery chemistries. All 18 cells can be measured in 290 ?s, and lower data acquisition rates can be selected for high noise reduction. Multiple ADBMS1818 devices can be connected in series, permitting simultaneous cell monitoring of long, high voltage battery strings. Each ADBMS1818 has an isoSPI? interface for high speed, RF immune, long distance communications. Multiple devices are connected in a daisy chain with one host processor connection for all devices. This daisy chain can be operated bidirectionally, ensuring communication integrity, even in the event of a fault along the communication path. The ADBMS1818 can be powered directly from the battery stack or from an isolated supply. The ADBMS1818 includes passive balancing for each cell, with individual PWM duty cycle control for each cell. Other features include an on-board 5 V regulator, nine general purpose I/O lines, and a sleep mode, where current consumption is reduced to 6 ?A.
