The LT3080-1 is a 1.1A low dropout linear regulator that incorporates an internal ballast resistor to allow direct paralleling of devices without the need for PC board trace resistors. The internal ballast resistor allows multiple devices to be paralleled directly on a surface mount board for higher output current and power dissipation while keeping board layout simple and easy. The device brings out the collector of the pass transistor to allow low dropout operation—down to 350mV—when used with multiple input supplies. The LT3080-1 is capable of supplying a wide output voltage range. A reference current through a single resistor programs the output voltage to any level between zero and 36V. The LT3080-1 is stable with 2.2μF of ceramic capacitance on the output, not requiring additional ESR as is common with other regulators.Internal protection includes current limiting and thermal limiting. The ADuC7023 is a fully integrated, 1 MSPS, 12-bit data acquisition system, incorporating high performance multichannel ADCs, 16-bit/32-bit MCUs, and Flash/EE memory on a single chip.The ADC consists of up to 12 single-ended inputs. An additional four inputs are available but are multiplexed with the four DAC output pins. The ADC can operate in single-ended or differential input modes. The ADC input voltage is 0 V to VREF. The ADuM3160 is a USB port isolator, based on Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic air core transformer technology, this isolation component provides outstanding performance characteristics and is easily integrated with low and full speed USB-compatible peripheral devices.Many microcontrollers implement USB so that it presents only the D+ and D− lines to external pins. This is desirable in many cases because it minimizes external components and simplifies the design; however, this presents particular challenges when isolation is required. Because the USB lines must switch between actively driving D+/D− and allowing external resistors to set the state of the bus, the ADuM3160 provides mechanisms for detecting the direction of data flow and control over the state of the output buffers. Data direction is determined on a packet-by-packet basis.The ADuM3160 uses the edge detection based iCoupler technology in conjunction with internal logic to implement a transparent, easily configured, upstream-facing port isolator. Isolating the upstream port provides several advantages in simplicity, power management, and robust operation.The isolator has propagation delay comparable to that of a standard hub and cable.
