Specified at pixel rates of up to 36 MHz, the AD9949 consists of a complete analog front end with A/D conversion, combined with a programmable timing driver. The Precision Timing core allows adjustment of high speed clocks with <600 ps resolution.The analog front end includes black level clamping, CDS, PxGA, VGA, and a 36 MSPS 12-bit A/D converter. Theyconsist of a low-noise digital PFD (Phase Frequency Detector), a precision charge pump, a programmable reference divider, programmable A and B counters and a dual-modulus prescaler (P/P+1). The A (5-bit)and B (13-bit) counters, in conjunction with the dual modulus prescaler (P/P+1), implement an N divider (N= BP+A).
