The AD7896 is a fast, 12-bit ADC that operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply and is housed in small 8-lead PDIP and 8-lead SOIC packages. The part contains an 8 µs successive approximation ADC, an on-chip track-and-hold amplifier, an on-chip clock, and a high speed serial interface.Output data from the AD7896 is provided via a high speed, serial interface port. This 2-wire serial interface has a serial clock input and a serial data output with the external serial clock accessing the serial data from the part.In addition to the traditional dc accuracy specifications, such as linearity, full-scale, and offset errors, the AD7896 is also specified for dynamic performance parameters, including harmonic distortion and signal-to-noise ratio.The part accepts an analog input range of 0 V to VDD and operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply, consuming only 9 mW typical. The VDD input is also used as the reference for the part so that no external reference is required.The AD7896 features a high sampling rate mode and, for low power applications, a proprietary automatic power down mode where the part automatically goes into power down once con-version is complete and 'wakes up' before the next conversion cycle.The part is available in a small, 8-lead, 0.3'' wide, plastic or hermetic dual-in-line package (PDIP) and in an 8-lead, small outline IC (SOIC).PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS Complete, 12-bit ADC in an 8-Lead Package. The AD7904 / AD7914 / AD7924 are, respectively, 8-bit, 10-bit, and 12-bit, high speed, low power, 4-channel successive approximation ADCs. The parts operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.25 V power supply and feature throughput rates up to 1 MSPS. The parts contain a low noise, wide bandwidth track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies in excess of 8 MHz.The conversion process and data acquisition are controlled using CS and the serial clock signal, allowing the device to easily inter-face with microprocessors or DSPs. The input signal is sampled on the falling edge of CS and conversion is also initiated at this point. There are no pipeline delays associated with the part.The AD7904 / AD7914 / AD7924 use advanced design techniques to achieve very low power dissipation at maximum throughput rates. At maximum throughput rates, the AD7904 / AD7914 / AD7924 consume 2 mA maximum with 3 V supplies; with 5 V supplies, the current consumption is 2.7 mA maximum.Through the configuration of the control register, the analog input range for the part can be selected as 0 V to REFIN or 0 V to 2 × REFIN, with either straight binary or twos complement output coding. The AD7904 / AD7914 / AD7924 each feature four single-ended analog inputs with a channel sequencer to allow a pre-programmed selection of channels to be converted sequentially.The conversion time for the AD7904 / AD7914 / AD7924 is determined by the SCLK frequency, which is also used as the master clock to control the conversion.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS High Throughput with Low Power Consumption. Flexible Power/Serial Clock Speed Management. The conversion rate is determined by the serial clock, allowing the conversion time to be reduced by increasing the serial clock speed. The parts also feature two shutdown modes to maximize power efficiency at lower throughput rates. Current consumption is 0.5 µA maximum when in full shutdown. No Pipeline Delay. The parts feature a standard successive approximation ADC with accurate control of the sampling instant via the CS input and once-off conversion control.

The parts operate from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V power supply and feature a 2 µs conversion time. The parts contain a 4-channel multiplexer and track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies up to 11 MHz.The AD7994 provides a two-wire serial interface which is compatible with I2C interfaces. The part comes in two versions, AD7994-0 and AD7994-1. Each version allows for a minimum of two different I2C addresses. The I2C interface on the AD7994-0 supports Standard and Fast I2C Interface Modes. The I2C interface on the AD7994-1 supports Standard, Fast and two High-Speed I2C Interface Modes.The AD7994 normally remain in a shutdown state while not converting, and power up only for conversions. The conversion process can be controlled using the CONVST pin, by a command mode where conversions occur across I2C write operations, or an automatic conversion interval mode selected through software control. The AD7994 require an external reference that should be applied to the REFIN pin and can be in the range of 1.2 V to VDD. This allows the widest dynamic input range to the ADC. On-chip limit registers can be programmed with high and low limits for the conversion result, and an open-drain, out-of-range indicator output (ALERT) becomes active when the programmed high or low limits are violated by the conversion result. The AD8030 is a dual, rail-to-rail input and output high speed amplifier with a quiescent current of only 1.3 mA per amplifier. Despite its low power consumption, the amplifier provides excellent performance with 125MHz small signal bandwidth and 60 V/µs slew rate. ADI's proprietary XFCB process enables high speed and high performance on low power.This amplifier exhibits true single-supply operation with rail-to-rail input and output performance for supply voltages ranging from 2.7V to 12V. The input voltage range extends 200 mV beyond each rail without phase reversal. The dynamic range of the output extends to within 40 mV of each rail.The AD8030 provides excellent signal quality with minimal power dissipation. At G=+1, SFDR is -72dBc at 1MHz and settling time to 0.1% is only 80 ns. Low distortion and fast settling performance makes this amplifier a suitable driver for single-supply A/D converters.The versatility of the AD8030 allows the user to operate the amplifier on a wide range of supplies while consuming less than 6.5 mW of power. This feature extends the operation time in applications ranging from battery-powered systems with large bandwidth requirements to high speed systems where component density requires lower power dissipation.The AD8030 is the only low power, rail-to-rail input and output high speed amplifier available in SOT23 and SC70 micro packages. The amplifier is rated over the extended industrial temperature range, -40°C to +125°C.

In addition, a serial data out pin (SDO) allows daisy-chaining when multiple packages are used. Data readback allows the user to read the contents of the DAC register via the SDO pin. On power-up, the internal shift register and latches are filled with 0s, and the DAC outputs are at zero scale.The AD5415 DAC is available in a 24-lead TSSOP package.
