The ADM8616/ADM8617 are supervisory circuits that monitorpower supply voltage levels and code execution integrity in micro-processor-based systems. A power-on reset signal generates whenthe supply voltage rises to a preset threshold level. The ADM8616/ADM8617 have an on-chip watchdog timer that can reset themicroprocessor if it fails to strobe within a preset timeoutperiod.Each part is available in the following nine reset thresholdoptions: 1.58 V, 1.67 V, 2.19 V, 2.32 V, 2.63 V, 2.93 V, 3.08 V, 4.38 V, and 4.63 V. There are four reset timeout options: 1 ms,20 ms, 140 ms, and 1120 ms. There are also three possible watchdog timeouts available: 6.3 ms, 102 ms, and 1.6 sec. The ADCMP563/ADCMP564 are high speed comparatorsfabricated on Analog Devices’ proprietary XFCB process. Thedevices feature a 700 ps propagation delay with less than 75 psoverdrive dispersion. Dispersion, a measure of the difference inpropagation delay under differing overdrive conditions, is a particularlyimportant characteristic of high speed comparators. A separateprogrammable hysteresis pin is available on the ADCMP564.A differential input stage permits consistent propagation delaywith a wide variety of signals in the common-mode range from−2.0 V to +3.0 V. Outputs are complementary digital signals thatare fully compatible with ECL 10 K and 10 KH logic families.The outputs provide sufficient drive current to directly drivetransmission lines terminated in 50 Ω to −2 V. The AD7938-6 is a 12-bit, high speed, low power, successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The part operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.25 V power supply and features throughput rates up to 625 kSPS. The part contains a low noise, wide bandwidth, differential track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies up to 50 MHz.The AD7938-6 features eight analog input channels with a channel sequencer that allows a preprogrammed selection of channels to be converted sequentially. The part can operatewith either single-ended, fully differential, or pseudo differential analog inputs.The conversion process and data acquisition are controlled using standard control inputs that allow easy interfacing with microprocessors and DSPs. The input signal is sampled on the falling edge of CONVST and the conversion is initiated at this point.The AD7938-6 has an accurate on-chip 2.5 V reference that can be used as the reference source for the analog-to-digital conversion.
