The AD584 is an 8-terminal precision voltage reference offering pin programmable selection of four popular output voltages: 10.000 V, 7.500 V, 5.000 V and 2.500 V. Other output voltages, above, below, or between the four standard outputs, are available by the addition of external resistors. The input voltage can vary between 4.5 V and 30 V.Laser wafer trimming (LWT) is used to adjust the pin programmable output levels and temperature coefficients, resulting in the most flexible high precision voltage reference available in monolithic form.In addition to the programmable output voltages, the AD584 offers a unique strobe terminal that permits the device to be turned on or off. When the AD584 is used as a power supply reference, the supply can be switched off with a single, low power signal. In the off state, the current drained by the AD584 is reduced to approximately 100 μA. In the on state, the total supply current is typically 750 μA, including the output buffer amplifier.The AD584 is recommended for use as a reference for 8-, 10-, or 12-bit digital-to-analog converters (DACs) that require an external precision reference. In addition, the device is ideal for analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) of up to 14-bit accuracy, either successive approximation or integrating designs, and in general, it can offer better performance than that provided by standard self-contained references.The AD584J and AD584K are specified for operation from 0°C to +70°C, and the AD584S and AD584T are specified for the −55°C to +125°C range. All grades are packaged in a hermetically sealed, eight-terminal TO-99 metal can, and the AD584J and AD584K are also available in an 8-lead PDIP.

The AD621 is an easy to use, low cost, low power, high accuracy instrumentation amplifier which is ideally suited for a wide range of applications. Its unique combination of high performance, small size and low power, outperforms discrete in amp implementations. High functionality, low gain errors and low gain drift errors are achieved by the use of internal gain setting resistors. Fixed gains of 10 and 100 can be easily set via external pin strapping. The AD621 is fully specified as a total system, therefore, simplifying the design process.For portable or remote applications, where power dissipation, size and weight are critical, the AD621 features a very low supply current of 1.3 mA max and is packaged in a compact 8-pin SOIC, 8-pin plastic DIP or 8-pin cerdip. The AD621 also excels in applications requiring high total accuracy, such as precision data acquisition systems used in weigh scales and transducer interface circuits. Low maximum error specifications including nonlinearity of 10 ppm, gain drift of 5 ppm°/C, 50 µV offset voltage and 0.6 mV/°C offset drift ('B' grade), make possible total system performance at a lower cost than has been previously achieved with discrete designs or with other monolithic instrumentation amplifiers.When operating from high source impedances, as in ECG and blood pressure monitors, the AD621 features the ideal combination of low noise and low input bias currents. Voltage noise is specified as 9 nV/(root) Hz at 1 kHz and 0.28 µV p-p from 0.1 Hz to 10 Hz. Input current noise is also extremely low at 0.1 pA/Hz. The AD621 outperforms FET input devices with an input bias current specification of 1.5 nA max over the full industrial temperature range.

It has been optimized for the demanding filtering requirements of wideband standards like, CDMA2000, UMTS, and TD-SCDMA. The AD6636 is designed to be used as part of radio system that uses either an IF sampling ADC, or a baseband sampling ADC.The AD6636 has the following signal processing stages: a Frequency Translator, a 5th order Cascaded Integrated Comb filter, two sets of Cascaded Fixed Coefficient Finite Impulse Response (FIR) and Half Band filters, three cascaded programmable coefficient Sum of Product FIR filters, an Interpolating Half Band Filter (LHB) and a digital Automatic Gain Control (AGC) Block. Multiple modes are supported for clocking data into and out of the chip to provide flexibility for interfacing to a wide variety of digitizers. Programming and control is accomplished via serial or microport interfaces.The AD6636 features a fractional clock multiplier that uses the ADC clock to produce a digital down converter master clock up to 200 MHz. This internal phased-locked loop (PLL) allows optimum digital clock rates, regardless of the converter sampling rate, enabling the best possible digital signal decimation and filtering. Three 16-bit parallel output ports accommodate high data rate 3G applications. An on-chip interpolating half band filter can also be used to further increase the output rate while still allowing for very efficient filters. In addition, each channel has a digital AGC for output data scaling.

The AD688 is a high precision ±10 V tracking reference. Low tracking error, low initial error and low temperature drift give the AD688 reference absolute ±10 V accuracy performance previously unavailable in monolithic form. The AD688 uses a proprietary ion-implanted buried Zener diode, and laser-wafer-drift- trimming of high stability thin-film resistors to provide outstanding performance at low cost.The AD688 includes the basic reference cell and three additional amplifiers. The amplifiers are laser-trimmed for low offset and low drift and maintain the accuracy of the reference. The amplifiers are configured to allow Kelvin connections to the load and/or boosters for driving long lines or high current loads, delivering the full accuracy of the AD688 where it is required in the application circuit.The low initial error allows the AD688 to be used as a system reference in precision measurement applications requiring 12-bit absolute accuracy. In such systems, the AD688 can provide a known voltage for system calibration and the cost of periodic recalibration can therefore be eliminated. Furthermore, the mechanical instability of a trimming potentiometer and the potential for improper calibration can be eliminated by using the AD688 and calibration software.The AD688 is available in three versions. The AD688AQ and BQ grades are packaged in 16-pin cerdip (0.3') packages and are specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C. The AD688SQ grade is specified for operation from -55°C to +125°C.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS Precision Tracking. The AD688 offers precision tracking ±10 V Kelvin output connections with no external components. Tracking error is less than 1.5 mV and fine-trim is available for applications requiring exact symmetry between the +10 V and −10 V outputs.  Accuracy. The AD688 offers 12-bit absolute accuracy without any user adjustments. Optional fine-trim connections are provided for applications requiring higher precision. The fine-trimming does not alter the operating conditions of the Zener or the buffer amplifiers and thus does not increase the temperature drift.  Low output noise. Output noise of the AD688 is low— typically 6 μVp-p. A pin is provided for broadband noise filtering using an external capacitor.

The AD7225 contains four 8-bit voltage output digital-to-analog converters, with output buffer amplifiers and interface logic on a single monolithic chip. Each D/A converter has a separate reference input terminal. No external trims are required to achieve full specified performance for the part.The double-buffered interface logic consists of two 8-bit registers per channel -an input register and a DAC register. Control inputs A0 and A1 determine which input register is loaded when WR goes low. Only the data held in the DAC registers determines the analog outputs of the converters. The double-buffering allows simultaneous update of all four outputs under control of LDAC. All logic inputs are TTL and CMOS (5V) level compatible and the control logic is speed compatible with most 8-bit microprocessors.Specified performance is guaranteed for input reference voltages from +2V to +12.5V when using dual supplies. The part is also specified for single supply operation using a reference of +10V. Each output buffer amplifier is capable of developing +10V across a 2 K(Ω) load.The AD7225 is fabricated on an all ion-implanted high speed Linear Compatible CMOS (LC2MOS) process which has been specifically developed to integrate high-speed digital logic circuits and precision analog circuitry on the same chip.PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS DACs and Amplifiers on CMOS Chip. The single-chip design of four 8-bit DACs and amplifiers allows a dramatic reduction in board space requirements and offers increased reliability in systems using multiple converters. Its pinout is aimed at optimizing board layout with all analog inputs and outputs at one end of the package and all digital inputs at the other. Single- or Dual-Supply Operation. The AD7304 / AD7305 are quad, 8-bit DACs that operate from a single +3 V to +5 V supply or ±5 V supplies. The AD7304 has a serial interface, while the AD7305 has a parallel interface. Internal precision buffers swing rail-to-rail. The reference input range includes both supply rails allowing for positive or negative full-scale output voltages. Operation is guaranteed over the supply voltage range of +2.7 V, +5.5 V to ±5 V consuming less than 9 mW from a +3 V supply. The full-scale voltage output is determined by the external reference input voltage applied. The rail-to-rail VREF input to DAC VOUT allows for a full-scale voltage set equal the positive supply VDD, the negative supply VSS or any value in between.The AD7304's doubled-buffered serial-data interface offers high-speed, three-wire, SPI and micro controller compatible inputs using data in (SDI), clock (CLK) and chip select (CS) pins. Additionally, an internal power-on reset sets the output to zero scale.The parallel input AD7305 uses a standard address decode along with the WR control line to load data into the input registers.The double buffered architecture allows all four input registers to be preloaded with new values followed by a LDAC control strobe which copies all the new data into the DAC registers thereby updating the analog output values. The AD7305 is pin-compatible with the popular industry standard AD7226 when operating from less than +5.5 V.An internal power ON reset places both parts in the zero-scale state at turn ON. A 40 µA power shutdown (SHDN) feature is activated on both parts by tri-stating the SDI/SHDN pin on the AD7304, and tri-stating the A0/SHDN address pin on the AD7305. The AD7304 / AD7305 are specified over the extended industrial (−40°C to +85°C), and the automotive (−40°C to +125°C) temperature ranges.

The AD7490 is a 12-bit high speed, low power, 16-channel, successive approximation ADC. The part operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.25 V power supply and features throughput rates up to 1 MSPS. The part contains a low noise, wide bandwidth track-and-hold amplifier that can handle input frequencies in excess of 1 MHz.The conversion process and data acquisition are controlled using CS and the serial clock signal, allowing the device to easily interface with microprocessors or DSPs. The input signal is sampled on the falling edge of CS, and conversion is also initiated at this point. There are no pipeline delays associated with the part.The AD7490 uses advanced design techniques to achieve very low power dissipation at high throughput rates. For maximum throughput rates, the AD7490 consumes just 1.8 mA with 3 V supplies, and 2.5 mA with 5 V supplies.By setting the relevant bits in the control register, the analog input range for the part can be selected to be a 0 V to REFIN input or a 0 V to 2 × REFIN input, with either straight binary or twos complement output coding. The AD7490 features 16 single-ended analog inputs with a channel sequencer to allow a preprogrammed selection of channels to be converted sequen-tially. The AD7572 is a complete, 12-bit ADC that offers high speed performance combined with low, CMOS power levels. The AD7572 uses an accurate, high speed DAC and comparator in a successive-approximation loop to achieve a fast conversion time.An on-chip, buried Zener diode provides a stable reference voltage to give low drift performance over the full temperature range and the specified accuracy is achieved without any user trims. An on-chip clock circuit is provided, which may be used with a crystal for stand-alone operation, or the clock input may be driven from a external clock source such as a divided-down microprocessor clock. The only other external components required for basic operation of the AD7572 are decoupling capacitors for the supply voltages and reference output.
