EVAL-ADF7020DBZ3
Analog Devices Inc.
The ADF7020 is a low power, low-IF transceiver designed for operation in the license-free ISM bands at 433MHz, 868MHz and 915MHz. It is suitable for circuit applications that meet either the European ETSI EN-300-220 or the North American FCC, Part 15.247 and 15.249 regulatory standards. It operates from a 2.3 V to 3.6V power supply with programmable output power from -16 to +13dBm in 0.3dBm steps. Its receiver sensitivity is -117.5dBm at 1kbits/s in FSK mode or -110.5dBm at 9.6kbits/s. Power consumption is 20mA in receive mode and 30mA in transmit mode (+10dBm output).Other features include on-chip VCO (voltage controlled oscillator), Fractional-N PLL, on-chip 7-bit ADC (analog-to-digital converter), digital received signal strength indication (RSSI), temperature sensor and a patent pending fully automatic AFC loop. This allows the ADF7020 to be used with lower tolerance crystals. Its leakage current is < 1uA in power down mode. This device is suitable for circuit applications that meet the European ETSI-300-220, the North American FCC (Part 15), or the Chinese Short Range Device regulatory standards. A complete transceiver can be built using a small number of external discrete components, making the ADF7020 very suitable for price-sensitive and area-sensitive applications. The transmitter block on the ADF7020 contains a VCO and low noise fractional-N PLL with an output resolution of <1 ppm. This frequency agile PLL allows the ADF7020 to be used in frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) systems. The VCO operates at twice the fundamental frequency to reduce spurious emissions and frequency-pulling problems. The transmitter output power is programmable in 0.3 dB steps from −16 dBm to +13 dBm. The transceiver RF frequency and modulation are programmable using a simple 3-wire interface. The device operates with a power supply range of 2.3 V to 3.6 V and can be powered down when not in use.A low IF architecture is used in the receiver (200 kHz), minimizing power consumption and the external component count and avoiding interference problems at low frequencies. The ADF7020 supports a wide variety of programmable features, including Rx linearity, sensitivity, and IF bandwidth, allowing the user to trade off receiver sensitivity and selectivity against current consumption, depending on the application. The receiver also features a patent-pending automatic frequency control (AFC) loop, allowing the PLL to track out the frequency error in the incoming signal. An on-chip ADC provides readback of an integrated temperature sensor, an external analog input, the battery voltage, or the RSSI signal, which provides savings on an ADC in some applications. The temperature sensor is accurate to ±10°C over the full operating temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. This accuracy can be improved by doing a 1-point calibration at room temperature and storing the result in memory.APPLICATIONS Low cost wireless data transfer Remote control/security systems Wireless metering Keyless entry Home automation Process and building control Wireless voice

The AD5207 provides a dual channel, 256 position, digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. Each channel of the AD5207 contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digital code loaded into the SPI compatible serial-input register. The resistance between the wiper and either end point of the fixed resistor varies linearly with respect to the digital code transferred into the VR latch. The variable resistor offers a completely programmable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A to B terminal resistance of 10K, 50K or 100K ohms has a ±1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance with a nominal temperature coefficient of 500 ppm/°C. A unique switching circuit minimizes the high glitch inherent in traditional switched resistor designs and avoids any make-before-break or break-before-make operation. The AD5207 is available in 1.1 mm thin TSSOP-14 package, which is suitable for PCMCIA applications.APPLICATIONS Mechanical Potentiometer Replacement Stereo Channel Audio Level Control Instrumentation: Gain, Offset Adjustment Programmable Voltage-to-Current Conversion Programmable Filters, Delays, Time Constants Line Impedance Matching Automotive Electronics Adjustment

The AD5220 provides a single channel, 128-position digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer or variable resistor. These products were optimized for instrument and test equipment push-button applications. A choice between bandwidth or power dissipation are available as a result of the wide selection of end-to-end terminal resistance values. The AD5220 contains a fixed resistor with a wiper contact that taps the fixed resistor value at a point determined by a digitally controlled UP/DOWN counter. The resistance between the wiper and either end point of the fixed resistor provides a con stant resistance step size that is equal to the end-to-end resistance divided by the number of positions (e.g., RSTEP = 10 kΩ / 128 = 78Ω). The variable resistor offers a true adjustable value of resistance, between the A terminal and the wiper, or the B terminal and the wiper. The fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 10 kΩ, 50 kΩ, or 100 kΩ has a nominal temperature coefficient of 800 ppm/°C.The chip select CS, count CLK and U/D direction control inputs set the variable resistor position. These inputs that control the internal UP/DOWN counter can be easily generated with mechanical or push button switches (or other contact closure devices). External debounce circuitry is required for the negative-edge sensitive CLK pin. This simple digital interface eliminates the need for microcontrollers in front panel interface designs. The AD5220 is available in both surface mount (SO-8) and the 8-lead plastic DIP package. For ultracompact solutions selected models are available in the thin μSOIC package. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. For 3-wire, SPI compatible interface applications, see the AD7376 / AD8400 / AD8402 / AD8403 products.APPLICATIONS Mechanical Potentiometer Replacement Remote Incremental Adjustment Applications Instrumentation: Gain, Offset Adjustment Programmable Voltage-to-Current Conversion Programmable Filters, Delays, Time Constants Line Impedance Matching Power Supply Adjustment

AD5232BRUZ10-REEL7
Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5232 device provides a nonvolatile, dual-channel, digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) with 256-position resolution. This device performs the same electronic adjustment function as a mechanical potentiometer with enhanced resolution, solid state reliability, and superior low temperature coefficient performance. The versatile programming of the AD5232, performed via a microcontroller, allows multiple modes of operation and adjustment. In the direct program mode, a predetermined setting of the RDAC registers (RDAC1 and RDAC2) can be loaded directly from the microcontroller. Another important mode of operation allows the RDACx register to be refreshed with the setting previously stored in the corresponding EEMEM register (EEMEM1 and EEMEM2). When changes are made to the RDACx register to establish a new wiper position, the value of the setting can be saved into the EEMEMx register by executing an EEMEM save operation. After the settings are saved in the EEMEMx register, these values are automatically transferred to the RDACx register to set the wiper position at system power-on. Such operation is enabled by the internal preset strobe. The preset strobe can also be accessed externally. All internal register contents can be read via the serial data output (SDO). This includes the RDAC1 and RDAC2 registers, the corresponding nonvolatile EEMEM1 and EEMEM2 registers, and the 14 spare USER EEMEM registers that are available for constant storage. The basic mode of adjustment is the increment and decrement command instructions that control the wiper position setting register (RDACx). An internal scratch pad RDACx register can be moved up or down one step of the nominal resistance between Terminal A and Terminal B. This step adjustment linearly changes the wiper to Terminal B resistance (RWB) by one position segment of the device’s end-to-end resistance (RAB). For exponential/ logarithmic changes in wiper setting, a left/right shift command instruction adjusts the levels in ±6 dB steps, which can be useful for audio and light alarm applications. The AD5232 is available in a thin, 16-lead TSSOP package. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended industrial temperature range of −40°C to +85°C. Analog Devices Inc.
The AD5241 / AD52421 provide a single-/dual-channel, 256-position, digitally controlled variable resistor (VR) device. These devices perform the same electronic adjustment function as a potentiometer, trimmer, or variable resistor. Each VR offers a completely programmable value of resistance between the A terminal and the wiper, or the B terminal and the wiper. For the AD5242, the fixed A-to-B terminal resistance of 10 kΩ, 100 kΩ, or 1 MΩ has a 1% channel-to-channel matching tolerance. The nominal temperature coefficient of both parts is 30 ppm/°C.Wiper position programming defaults to midscale at system power on. When powered, the VR wiper position is programmed by an I2C-compatible, 2-wire serial data interface. Both parts have two extra programmable logic outputs available that enable users to drive digital loads, logic gates, LED drivers, and analog switches in their system. The AD5241 / AD5242 are available in surface-mount, 14-lead SOIC and 16-lead SOIC packages and, for ultracompact solutions, 14-lead TSSOP and 16-lead TSSOP packages. All parts are guaranteed to operate over the extended temperature range of −40°C to +105°C.APPLICATIONS Multimedia, video, and audio Communications Mechanical potentiometer replacement Instrumentation: gain, offset adjustment Programmable voltage-to-current conversion Line impedance matching
