The ADP3301 is a member of the ADP330x family of precision low dropout anyCAP® voltage regulators. The ADP3301 stands out from the conventional LDOs with a novel architecture, an enhanced process and a new package. Its patented design includes a noninverting wideband driver and a stage that permits the use of an internal “pole splitting” capacitor to stabilize the feedback loop with a single output capacitor as small as 0.47 µF. This device is stable with any type of capacitor regardless of its ESR (Equivalent Serial Resistance) value, including ceramic types (MLCC) for space restricted applications. The ADP3301 achieves exceptional accuracy of ±0.8% at room temperature and ±1.4% overall accuracy over temperature, line and load regulations. The dropout voltage of the ADP3301 is only 100 mV (typical) at 100 mA.In addition to the new architecture and process, ADI’s new proprietary thermally enhanced package (Thermal Coastline) can handle 1 W of power dissipation without external heat sink or large copper surface on the PC board. This keeps PC board real estate to a minimum and makes the ADP3301 very attractive for use in portable equipment.The ADP3301 operates with a wide input voltage range from 3 V to 12 V and delivers a load current in excess of 100 mA. It features an error flag that signals when the device is about to lose regulation or when the short circuit or thermal overload protection is activated. Other features include shutdown and optional noise reduction capabilities. Maxim's redesigned DG417/DG418/DG419 precision, CMOS, monolithic analog switches now feature guaranteed on-resistance matching (3Ω max) between switches and guaranteed on-resistance flatness over the signal range (4Ω max). These switches conduct equally well in either direction and guarantee low charge injection, low power consumption, and an ESD tolerance of 2000V minimum per Method 3015.7. The new design offers low off-leakage current over temperature (less than 5nA at +85°C).The DG417/DG418 are single-pole/single-throw (SPST) switches. The DG417 is normally closed, and the DG418 is normally open. The DG419 is single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) with one normally closed switch and one normally open switch. Switching times are less than 175ns max for tON and less than 145ns max for tOFF. Operation is from a single +10V to +30V supply, or bipolar ±4.5V to ±20V supplies. The MAX845 provides an isolated power supply small enough to fit in thin PCMCIA cards and space-sensitive applications. It drives a low-profile center-tapped transformer primary from a 5V or 3.3V DC power supply. The secondary can be wound to provide any isolated positive or negative voltage at powers up to 750mW.The MAX845 consists of an oscillator followed by a toggle flip-flop. The flip-flop generates two 50% duty-cycle square waves, which are complementary at half the oscillator frequency (450kHz, min). These two signals drive the ground-referenced N-channel power switches. Internal circuitry ensures break-before-make action between the two switches.A low-power shutdown disables both the switches and the oscillator, reducing power consumption.
