The ADAU1401A is a complete, single-chip audio system with 28-/56-bit audio DSP, ADCs, DACs, and microcontroller-like control interfaces. Signal processing includes equalization, cross-over, bass enhancement, multiband dynamics processing, delay compensation, speaker compensation, and stereo image widening. This processing can be used to compensate for real-world limitations of speakers, amplifiers, and listening environments, providing dramatic improvements in perceived audio quality.The signal processing of the ADAU1401A is comparable to that found in high end studio equipment. Most processing is done in full 56-bit, double-precision mode, resulting in very good low level signal performance. The ADAU1401A is a fully programmable DSP. The easy to use SigmaStudio™ software allows the user to graphically configure a custom signal processing flow using blocks such as biquad filters, dynamics processors, level controls, and GPIO interface controls.The ADAU1401A programs can be loaded on power-up either from a serial EEPROM through its own self-boot mechanism or from an external microcontroller. On power-down, the current state of the parameters can be written back to the EEPROM from the ADAU1401A to be recalled the next time the program is run.Two Σ-Δ ADCs and four Σ-Δ DACs provide a 98.5 dB analog input to analog output dynamic. Each ADC has a THD + N of −83 dB, and each DAC has a THD + N of −90 dB. Digital input and output ports allow a glueless connection to additional ADCs and DACs. The ADCLK854 is a 1.2 GHz/250 MHz LVDS/CMOS fanout buffer optimized for low jitter and low power operation. Possible configurations range from 12 LVDS to 24 CMOS outputs, including combinations of LVDS and CMOS outputs. Three control lines are used to determine whether fixed blocks of outputs (three banks of four) are LVDS or CMOS outputs.The ADCLK854 offers two selectable inputs and a sleep mode feature. The IN_SEL pin state determines which input is fanned out to all the outputs. The ADCLK948 is an ultrafast clock fanout buffer fabricated on the Analog Devices, Inc., proprietary XFCB3 silicon germanium (SiGe) bipolar process. This device is designed for high speed applications requiring low jitter.The device has two selectable differential inputs via the IN_SEL control pin. Both inputs are equipped with center tapped, differential, 100 Ω on-chip termination resistors. The inputs accept dc-coupled LVPECL, CML, 3.3 V CMOS (single-ended), and ac-coupled 1.8 V CMOS, LVDS, and LVPECL inputs. A VREFx pin is available for biasing ac-coupled inputs. The ADCLK948 features eight full-swing emitter coupled logic(ECL) output drivers. For LVPECL (positive ECL) operation, bias VCC to the positive supply and VEE to ground. For ECL operation, bias VCC to ground and VEE to the negative supply.The output stages are designed to directly drive 800 mV eachside into 50 Ω terminated to VCC -2V for a total differential output swing of 1.6V. The ADG5409 switches one offour differential inputs to a common differential output, asdetermined by the 2-bit binary address lines, A0 and A1.An EN input on both devices enables or disables the device.When EN is disabled, all channels are switched off. The on-resistanceprofile is very flat over the full analog input range, whichensures good linearity and low distortion when switching audiosignals. High switching speed also makes the parts suitable forvideo signal switching.Each switch conducts equally well in both directions when on,and each switch has an input signal range that extends to the powersupplies. In the off condition, signal levels up to the suppliesare blocked.The ADG5408/ADG5409 do not have a VL pins; rather, the logic powersupply is generated internally by an on-chip voltage generator.Product Highlights Trench isolation guards against latch-up. A dielectric trench separates the P and N channel transistors thereby preventing latch-up even under severe overvoltage conditions. Low RON. Dual-supply operation. For applications where the analog signal is bipolar, the ADG5408/ADG5409 can be operated from dual supplies up to ±22 V. Single-supply operation. For applications where the analog signal is bipolar, the ADG5408/ADG5409 can be operated from a single-rail power supply up to 40V. 3 V logic-compatible digital inputs: VINH = 2.0 V, VINL = 0.8 V.
