The ADuM130x are triple-channel digital isolators based on the Analog Devices, Inc., iCoupler® technology. Combining high speed CMOS and monolithic transformer technology, these isolation components provide outstanding performance characteristics superior to alternatives, such as optocouplers.By avoiding the use of LEDs and photodiodes, iCoupler devices remove the design difficulties commonly associated with optocouplers. The typical optocoupler concerns regarding uncertain current transfer ratios, nonlinear transfer functions, and temperature and lifetime effects are eliminated with the simple iCoupler digital interfaces and stable performance characteristics. The need for external drivers and other discrete components is eliminated with these iCoupler products. Furthermore, iCoupler devices consume one-tenth to one-sixth of the power of optocouplers at comparable signal data rates.The ADuM130x isolators provide three independent isolation channels in a variety of channel configurations and data rates (see the Ordering Guide in the data sheet). Both models operate with the supply voltage on either side ranging from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, providing compatibility with lower voltage systems as well as enabling a voltage translation functionality across the isolation barrier. In addition, the ADuM130x provide low pulse width distortion (<2 ns for CRW grade) and tight channel-to-channel matching (<2 ns for CRW grade). A power-on reset signal generates whenthe supply voltage rises to a preset threshold level. The ADM8616/ADM8617 have an on-chip watchdog timer that can reset themicroprocessor if it fails to strobe within a preset timeoutperiod.Each part is available in the following nine reset thresholdoptions: 1.58 V, 1.67 V, 2.19 V, 2.32 V, 2.63 V, 2.93 V, 3.08 V, 4.38 V, and 4.63 V. The ADM660 / ADM8660 is a charge-pump voltage converter that can be used to either invert the input supply voltage givingVOUT = -VIN or double it (ADM660 only) giving VOUT = 2 × VIN. Input voltages ranging from +1.5 V to +7 V can be inverted into a negative -1.5 V to -7 V output supply. This inverting scheme is ideal for generating a negative rail in single power supply systems. Only two small external capacitors are needed for the charge pump. Output currents up to 50 mA with greater than 90% efficiency are achievable, while 100 mA achieves greater than 80% efficiency.A Frequency Control (FC) input pin is used to select either25 kHz or 120 kHz charge-pump operation. This is used to optimize capacitor size and quiescent current. With 25 kHz selected, a 10 µF external capacitor is suitable, while with 120 kHz the capacitor may be reduced to 2.2 µF. The oscillator frequency on the ADM660 can also be controlled with an external capacitor connected to the OSC input or by driving this input with an external clock. In applications where a higher supply voltage is desired it is possible to use the ADM660 to doublethe input voltage. With input voltages from 2.5 V to 7 V, outputvoltages from 5 V to 14 V are achievable with up to 100 mA output current. The ADM8660 features a low power shutdown (SD) pin insteadof the external oscillator (OSC) pin. The ADP1710/ADP1711 are optimized for stable operation with small 1 μF ceramic output capacitors, allowing for good transient performance while occupying minimal board space. An enable pin controls the output voltage on both devices. There is also an under-voltage lockout circuit on both devices, which disables the regulator if IN drops below a minimum threshold. An internal soft start gives a typical start-up time of 80 μs. Short-circuit protection and thermal overload protection circuits prevent damage to the devices in adverse conditions. The ADSP-2136x SHARC® processor is a member of the SIMD SHARC family of DSPs that feature Analog Devices, Inc., Super Harvard Architecture. The processor is source code-compatible with the ADSP-2126x and ADSP-2116x DSPs, as well as with first generation ADSP-2106x SHARC processors in SISD (single-instruction, single-data) mode. The ADSP-2136x are 32-/40-bit floating-point processors optimized for high performance automotive audio applications. They contain a large on-chip SRAM and ROM, multiple internal buses to eliminate I/O bottlenecks, and an innovative digital audio interface (DAI).As shown in the functional block diagram on Page 1, the ADSP-2136x uses two computational units to deliver a significant performance increase over the previous SHARC processors on a range of signal processing algorithms. With its SIMD computational hardware, the ADSP-2136x can perform two GFLOPS running at 333 MHz.
